Nice one Joey!

"I'm certainly happy to get mine done sooner rather than later and I think that will start very shortly. I'll be staying at St Kilda," Montagna said.

Good to see Joey wants to stay....

Got him right where we want him…

Sign him up on reduced terms… then flog him off to the highest bidder come trade month…

Sucked in for being such a loyal, over-rated, dual AA dud.

Me too. A very overrated soft outside player who is more about image these days than any real substance. Pity he didn't model part of his game after Lenny. Not going to win a GF with the likes of him, Gram, Kosi and Gilbert in the team. Would have been not bad trade bait. Been in comfort zone for a while now at the club and needs a kick up his backside. Hope he alleviated quite a bit of salary cap pressure. As the old man says in the words of Jack Dyer, "a good ordinary player at best".

Great to see that a long serving player's decision to want to stick with the club is met with such disappointment

Anyway, a "well said Joey" from the Doc.

The only relevant part was the first phrase "out of contract St Kilda midfielder Leigh Montagna" the rest was fluff.

It pains me to single out players but when you see the way senior well paid players from other clubs perform week in week out then it just need to be said and Joey is a big disappointment.

Look at Lenny he has had 2 knee recos is 32 years old plays his heart out and hasn't gone missing this year unlike Joey has in most games. He also stood up in our GFs. Good luck to him for signing up again and if he feels he has given his all for the club good luck to him again. In our minds here, Joey is a seriously overrated player with an ego to match. Seems to show more passion in his media roles and hanging out at Brighton cafes.

No team has 18 Lennys. Even Premiership teams are made up of a combination of Lennys and Joeys.

Lenny is a once in a generation player however it's unrealistic to look at him as our benchmark.

Cos if we're only going to offer contracts to Lennys we're probably going to witness quite a few forfeits. :?

I was waiting for your turn. I stand totally by what I said about him. Reputations are made on repeated performances and not cameo once in a blue moon performances. Keep pumping up the tyres of these players and keep turning a blind eye to them with those rose-coloured glasses of yours.

Yes I seem to remember one Tony Locket saying something similar just before he buggered off. That is..a deals not done until it's done.
