Why, What, Who will encourage you to join the Saints in 2013

Post: # 1263075Post saintbrat »

and / or would you use to encourage others to Join the Saints.

So why did so many members leave at the end of last year then?

Perhaps there is some truth in people needing to be convinced we're a 'contender' before committing to the club?

Personally I really enjoyed watching a 32 step Saad run-up, a Milera evasion of a tackle, a beautiful Siposs lace out pass inside 50, Rhys attempting marks like a wise old 200 game player, Steven bursting out of the middle....

I can only encourage other members thinking of not renewing to consider what you'll be missing out on, the development years are great, you can tell people 'I remember seeing so and so, and you could tell he was going to be special'

Enjoy the ride, go saints!

I hope your all saving already- between 4-6 weeks before memberships are out again
unless your on Roll over- Sept 30th
or in NZ- available now http://www.saintsafl.co.nz/nz/membership.php

Can't help but laugh that the title defaults to "Mr" and the gender defaults to "Female" on that page

And what does it mean to give "priority access to purchase club Membership packages available in October"? It's not as if the club is going to cap the number of memberships up for sale

Why, the eternal quest to the Holy Grail!
To see the Watters-Pelchen structure click into gear.
To see the young guys develop.
To see Riewoldt finally get a ball delivered at chest height.
To see Jack Steven's return to top form.
To be part of the ever-lovin-group-huggin Saints family!

I just love the club. September is bringing back lots of bad memories , but I still get misty remembering the 2009 prelim and the unbelievable joy amongst the fans at the MCG that night. Fabulous. I can only imagine what it would be like to actually experience that after the GF. I will never give up on that or my team.

I don't think the true supporters are the clubs problem.

It's the casual ones.

Which is why I think the campaign this year should be about tugging the heartstrings rather than an emphasis on the fact we're developing which may put them off (be the future kind of alluded to that)

How about a "Saints Levy" of $180 per annum charged to every rate payer in Bayside council?

That'd get us up to Collingwood's membership base instantly!

What about the members survey going on at the moment.....they want to know how much we'd donate and what would we want in return...

Got my first junior membership in 1964, my Dad signed me up with the Cheer Squad in '66 and I will always remember him dropping me on Grand Final day at the Brunton Avenue entrance to the 'G on GF day that year at 6:50 AM with the simple instructions to "run as fast as you can to the scoreboard and stand under the umpire's name". He'd just got home from night shift and weaved his way through the crowd to join me just before the big match. Eleven hours after Dad dropped me at the ground I was confirmed with the Doc's "incurable disease".

I'd rather live with the disease than seek a cure. Me, the Good Lady and the Nipper will be members again in 2013. The Nipper is not buying the "you've already been to Wellington" line either, just because she was 18 weeks old at the time. Anzac Day in the wind capital of the world might be on the agenda as well.

Much rather be an active member of the Saints who goes to the games than a be a couch potato.

It's like your rates. You receive the bill, you pay it & you move on.

Because I have been a member for 23 years and It's a habit so why change now?

When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

Why just Bayside? How about Port Phillip, Kingston, Casey and Frankston as well to really cover the catchment area.

My Wife and I quit being members because we have 2 kids under 4 and can't do twilight or night games. With only 2 afternoon games just no value. I work Saturday nights sometimes too. Next year we should be able to do twilight games with the eldest so will probably be members again.

West Aussie members having a ticket to Subiaco included. We have to buy a ticket while normal mememberships include some passes into Etihad.

It is love.

However, after courting this lady for 40 years and spending my life's earning's on her, I think it's probably about time she stepped up to the bar and shouted me....

n terms of getting members - our membership marketing over the past 5 years has been absulutely putrid!
Aimed at women and children.
Harden up get real and look at the way Hawthorn and Richmond have turned around their membership woes.
We have as many supporters IMO as either of those teams but too many passive supporters.
Link the raffle prizes to membership for example - more prizes for signing up - going into a draw - weekly member prizes even for each round!!!
Emails should be more personal rather than generic crap you can read in the paper - we should get some honest untarnished comments from coaches and club officials rather than things their 20 y.o. junior presser could write.
Show the members you care about them. Show members you are working for them and exist for them. There is some arrogance between the inner sanctum and the outer supporters and members - whilst I understand the reason this happens, I don't believe it helps make people feel a genuine part of the club.
we need to focus on celebratinmg each member as a contributor and as much a part of the club as the marketing department, football department or any other part - after al when they all come and go - we are the ones that are there for life and we need to be treated as such.
