frankly would be happy to move Winmar and Shenton on who have had their chances and aren't up to it.
need space for Roberton and Cockie.
I really do hope we havent got rid of Nick and maybe Shenton to get those 2. Just a waste of players on the list.
Reported on SEN this morning that Saints were after the other Tippett.
Edit: Sorry just read that is interest in Joel Tippett for rookie only.
Lance or James??

Sorry to see Nick Winmar leave us - if that's what's happening. As I am very partial to the Winmar name and its' impact on the history of AFl (the guernsey incident @ Vic. Park) i was enthusiastic about Winmar Nb:2 coming to the club. Wish Nick all the best whether he stays or goes.
Reg: K.Tippett. I thought it interesting that both the Crows n' Swans are/ were interested in him. 24 Yrs. old already, how mature is this Tippett?
GO SAINTS!
The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
Looks like the Saints are going to face some competition with it being reported in the Herald Sun that both Sydney and Carlton are interested in his services. Can anyone tell me if stkilda has a pick before these two clubs in the rookie draft.

Shenton's had barely a year on the list! How is that seen as enough of a chance to prove himself?
I know nothing about Cockie - why do you think he deserves a place on the list?
Understand your sentiments but as a mature age player you aren't afforded the same luxuries as a kid. With TDL on board I would prefer to spend a rookie pick on Garlett, Warrell, Tippett, Colquhuon or even Prismall...

Go those mighty Sainters!!
It's official now. Shame they couldn't have decided earlier, so he could have nominated for the Nat Draft. Maybe some club will Rookie list him.
St Kilda Football Club has made an additional change to its Primary List ahead of the AFL’s List Lodgement Three deadline on Thursday.
Nick Winmar has been released from the final year of his playing contract after discussions between Winmar, his management and the Club over recent weeks.
“Late last week we advised Nick and his manager that we would be releasing him from the final year of his contract with the St Kilda Football Club,” Head of Football Chris Pelchen said.
“This was a difficult decision, however we feel it is the right one for both Nick and the Club. Nick has been a respected member of the Saints over the past three years and we wish him every success for the future."

Don't really think it's hurt his chances. Doubt any club would have traded for him or picked him up in the Nat Draft. So he was probably heading for the PSD and Rookie Draft regardless of when this decision was made.

Maybe it was mutual and his heart isn't in it?
Anyways, good luck to him.
Played like his heart wasn't in it, but that may just be his nature. Good luck Nick.
Released from contract. Who came up with that one. The kid has been sacked but hopefully will be paid out in full.
The club wanted a pick in either the preseason or rookie drafts so dumped him to unclog a spot..

If we want Joel Tippett we are second in line behind Carlton.
Then next year Sydney will move on him.
Maybe they will offer what remains of Tommy Walsh as a trade.

Will Sydney still go after Joel Tippett if they can't get their mitts on Kurt Tippett?
Don't we have an advantage if Carlton is just looking at him as a rookie, and their main list is full--assuming we go for him in the PSD? Also, I imagine we must be ahead of stupid Sydney in picks?
Lets face it, was picked up @ #31 to take the heat out of Ball being picked #30 by Collingfilth. It was a distraction from the angst of losing Ball to the filth for nothing.

bulls***. He was picked at 31 because StKilda believed he was the best option at that pick.

A craftier distraction would have been to pick up a gun like Sam Reid, Allen Christensen, Nathan Vardy or Ben Stratton who were all taken later that draft, or we could have cut to the chase and drafted BLT first.
Nevermind, at least we corrected everything later on with Jesse Smith, big Patto, WillyJ & L Miles - pfiew!
