Old-Scool Wool Guernsey

Post: # 1292296Post Uncle Barrels »

Does anyone know where I'd be able to find, and hopefully buy, one? I miss mine, but the years - and marriage - have made its ability to contain my girth untenable.

Anyone?

if you've got $700 there's a jumper for you: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AFL-St-Kilda ... 094&_uhb=1

although I'll knit one for you for $650.

Surely they are taking the piss?
I have a long sleeve version of that jumper, I would have thought it would be worth about $5 at an opp shop.
I should list it.

Someone can buy my large long sleeve with Tooheys logos and remnants of Nicky winmar, Spida and steven Szillers autographs on the hand sewn number 7 for that price.

$700 is insane for one of those. You'd think it would be one of Premiership guernseys worn in '66 if it's going for that much. I still have my old Sekem sleeveless (minus sponsorship patch) which I bought over 20 years ago. It would be a pretty snug fit now, considering I was about 16 when I last wore it.

How did marriage make you fat? Are you pregnant?

I got a long sleeve one even older than this one - had the Snowdeli and VFL badges sewn on - from the op shop for $2 about 2 years ago. Maybe I'll put it up for $500 and see how I go....

Thats a bloody great find.

I got a long sleeve one from ebay a few years ago with the old Phillip Morris sponsors patch and the old AFL symbol for about $70. Sadly it shrunk in the wash and I can no longer wear it if I can dig it out ill take 50 bucks for it

"AFL St Kilda Saints Vintage 80's"

Really?... Really?! It has an AFL, and Tooheys badge on it. The AFL logo started in 1990, and we weren't sponsored by Tooheys until 1993, and that badge on the jumper wasn't around until 1994 (93 had no black surround on badge).

It really annoys me when people try to sell stuff on eBay like this, when they have no idea at all!

Ps; If that's what it is worth, I have about $5000 worth of jumpers in my cupboard! Not to mention the one that was never worn, and signed by Stewie Loewe.

The tag says 120cm, but it would be a few sizes smaller than that now
