Anyway it's all hindsight hero.

Just pointing out to plugger that there needs to be a balance between loyalty to old guys and loyalty to young guys .

It can be a trade off. If you give old guys undying loyalty then that invariably means giving some youngster the ass .

I would argue that because our recruitment was so disgraceful from 2006 to 2010 our older players have had no competitive pressure since 2010 and have had a contractural dream run as a result .

Eg Kosi Blake Fisher and Schneider would be long gone at any other club .

No idea what i said last night but must have been some baiting as the post has been removed. Sorry that I upset you Con and Skeptic. In future I will just agree it was a bad move. By the way what did I say. to pissed to remember last night. And Fisher would never have been gone at any club. Cant beleive you would say that Con. just silly. Not sure Schneider would either, matter of fact he wouldnt. Kosi and Blake should have gone a year early though. Still have no idea how that helps keep Lynch.

By the way sounds like you had a few last night Con.

EDITED BY MOD. RESPONDED IN KIND TO BAITING. NO PM SENT TO POSTER.

Great how kosi had a good year in 09 got a 4 year contract and wasted our time space and money ever since.
Great team man though. Good teacher. Really helps out with drinking games and talking s*** about farming .
You know better to be loyal to some overpaid clydesdale than give a hand up to a young guy hey.

Newnes is awesome.
But we probably could have kept lynch, got Newnes and lived without milera.

Milera will come good. Maybe not with us but will come good all the same. Oozes class just needs the freedom to play his natural game which goes against modern coaching unfortunately

I watched him play well against the Tigers in round two 2011 and fully expected him to get another follow-on game, but our coach at that time omitted him from the next starting line-up! This surprised me, as I thought he had potential and had done little wrong in the game, but I guess that's football, (AND coaches!) Hope he does well, as he seems a good kid. FWIW I think the points about Tippet and Tex are on the money.

FFS Milera "oozes class!" do you ever watch the game?
Opportunistic small fwd who will never ever amount to much. These types usually just look for the crumbs off the pack and offer no other value.
Milne is the exception. Once in a generation.
Con is right when he says the older players should be moved on; Kosi, Schneider, etc.
Other clubs have delisted "favourite sons" for good reasons, to free up cap, let younger players develop.
Schneider had his chance, he is now at Seaford using a locker that could go to an aspiring youngster. Providing no value to the team at all.

I think Milera is also very classy. I watch every game by the way.

I remember that game well. You're right, Tom Lynch did nothing wrong.

Of course if you're not playing, it's difficult to make a mistake.

I wouldn't be in TOO much of a hurry to unload Schneider, as (when fit) he could still play a very important part in our development over the next couple of seasons. He's not exactly "ancient" I feel the same way about Milera, who should be persevered with (IMHO of course)

Schneider is probably one the best users of the ball and one of the smartest.. I wouldn't be asking him to retire before his 30s..

Newnes is good, perhaps heading to very good..but not awesome yet by a long shot.

Has he had a 20 posession game yet?

With all the talk about Ball and now Lynch (for whom we at least got a good prospect in Newnes), we all forget another howler. Dumping Matt Maguire for nothing. How we could use the Goose now!

My impression was that guys like Lynch and Armo saw that there wasn't a lot of opportunity at the time under Lyon. It's not worth worrying about now but the fact that Cripps, Ball and lynch (and according to Armo's brother him too) didn't see a future at the Saints is a worry. That's on top of a multitude of guys delisted with out even getting a game.

There was obviously a problem with development in that era lets just hope we get it right finally. It would be a night mare if Curren and Ledger go on to become stars at another club.

I don't think he's really on fire, I think it's just his red hair that makes it look that way.

Yes Nick does command delivery to him but this is a coaching problem.

It didn't happenso much when the G train and Kosi were also playing. I didn't happen when Hamill was around so we need otherforwards to step up and become "key" to the side as well.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency
