Great career Jason, you were always a fan favourite because you played the game with humility and discipline and always did the jumper proud. I hope my boy grows up playing his footy the way you went about it. Good luck for the future and stay close to the club.
Without frills, without fuss, you simply give your all. The club has been enriched for your efforts. We're proud to have seen you wear the jumper for the Saints, a humble champ who did us PROUD!
Blakey, you are the ultimate clubman. Your service on and off the field is one that has strengthened the St Kilda playing group and more importantly its culture. You will be example for new St Kilda players in years to come for work ethic and what is required to pull on the Saints jumper.
It can mean many things but in your instance it simply means that you gave everything to this club that we all love. And we as fans can ask for no more.
Of all the great players we've had over the last decade you stood their equal in heart and worth to the club. An inspiration to all and the definition of a club champion.
"The starting point of all achievement is desire. "
A true gentleman of our club who will continue to bleed red, black and white. Was a privilege to follow your career and an honour to have you at our club. A great Saint.
You may not be remembered as a player with great skill, but you will certainly be remembered as a great SAINT
WHO gave 100% commitment in all of his 218 games for the SAINTS.
Thanks's Jason.
You were often given the "no frills" jobs that didn't get the credit they deserved, but it was also great to see you punching outside your weight as full back or ruckman and pretty much standing up to any challenge thrown at you.
It takes more than goal kicking forwards to make a great team.
Thanks for your tireless efforts Jason, you've been a fantastic warrior for the St Kilda Football Club, and one of the most reliable, not to mention versatile. Always there to fill in any gap the side had on the day. Well done Blakey, well done!
When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
I will never forget th number of times you were sent into the ruckwork both at the centre bounce or around the boundary and you would play your heart as you stuck to the task set by the coach.
No greater joy than seeing you finally achieve the Brownlow votes last year.
Good luck with your football retirement and the path you take form here.
I think it was a game in 2008 against Hawthorn that epitomized your football, moved from position to position and always put in a contest. 3 goals that helped turn the game and another go in the ruck. Thanks for a great career. All the best
The Blake Man,
A true allrounder of our club.
Took on the big guys and won,saw you kick a few rippers, and even remember you
swinging the game in our favour.
You were underated, but blokes like you are priceless at the Saints.
Great clubman , great player, you will be missed well done on 218 .......
and of course the 1 brownlow vote.......
