sheeeeez he's been injured for like 90% of the past 2 & 1/2 years now....

Such a brilliantly skilled player, really should be a leader of the club by now...

The wording that concerned me was "some bone damage"

Yep, Roo is about the only senior player left who could play in Round 1 - that means it must be time for him to get injured too.

With so many experienced players injured, the first few games will be a bit of a baptism by fire for a lot of our kids. Who knows, could end up being an invaluable learning process for them.

The hard times can only make us stronger as a team.

You can't really put that on him?!

He was kneed in the back, just an unlucky collision injury?

If it were soft tissue i would agree with you - but knee in the back is totally different.
Not his fault and could have happened to anyone.
Just plain bad luck. The 'bone damage' part does sound like a worry...

So did anyone get reported for this? It seems like a pretty malicious act, even if it was an 'accident' players should still be responsible for contact with knees just the same as shoulders and elbows like we've seen with bump slipping high over the last couple of seasons. Or does the fact that the head/concussion issue isn't in play here mean it's fair game?

Feel really sorry for him and us, if we can get even 12 games from him this year it will have been worth keeping him on the list, such a class user of the ball and with with Dal gone class is in very short supply.

I read this post and wasn't going to take the bait but FFS the sheer ignorance behind this deserves a rant. The guy took a knee the back. It's not a soft tissue injury, it's not wear and tear.

Have a think before you post such utter crap

We haven't got much value out of Schneider of late, hopefully he can get back to being a consistent contributor.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

The fact it happened in Adelaide where there was no official vision and only 100 or saints supporters probably didn't give this incident the profile it should have had. Probably something the AFL should consider for future practice matches particularly when the 2 competing teams are not based in the same state.

Bad luck for Schneider I hope he can come back and get a decent injury free run.

Bone bruising from knees to the back has little to do with ageing early, unlucky incident this time around.

if it's not another soft tissue then the criticism at my post is fair enough but the fact remains, this guy is never on the park

all I read on this forum is how good he is... when does he ever play and produce

we would have been better of keeping Raph Clarke

That's got nothing to do with it. Armo got kneed in the back by Luke Hodge and there was stacks of vision. Armo was sore and may have missed the week after.

Hodge wasn't cited by MRP and had nothing to answer. In fact umpire gave free kick to Hodge because Milne had held his arm prior to the marking contest. So by that logic if you're pushed in the back you are allowed to punch someone in the head as you fall or elbow someone's jaw on the way down.

We know that umps have a hard time paying frees to some small forwards...It seems they also have a hard time citing reckless acts or rough conduct against some...It seems that some clubs and some players are more deserving of frees and fairness than others.

No, you're wrong. After being very durable - he played 24 in 2009, 25 in 2010, 21 in 2011 - he's had a couple of unlucky years, playing 8 and 5 the last two years. Injuries happen. If he plays less than 15 this year then it will be a trend. Otherwise I think your conclusion is suspect.
