Players to look out for in the 2nd half of the season
The following players are ones i'm really hopeful of having an impact on the second half of the season;
Tom Lee - Hopefully fit and builds on his 10 or so games last year and develops as a legitamate forward target at AFl level
Arryn Siposs - Can this talented 3rd tall forward option finally put it all together at AFL level...
Sam Dunnell - A but like Siposs, can he 1 get an opportunity and 2 take it by the scruff of the neck and really impact games at the AFL level
Seb Ross - Got a great build and pedigree, has gone about serving a midfield apprenicship and is consistently impacting games at VFL level, can he convert this in his 3rd year in the system into meanigful performances in the 1sts.
Shenton/Roberton - Both play a similar style and off plenty on rebounding off the half back line, but can they force their way into the side and cement a spot?
Brodie Murdoch - Real upside if he gets back to 100% fitness including match fitness. Bulding nicely in the VFL and after a good taste of senior footy last year, I hope that he could come into the side and kick goals and develop his midfield ability
I know there's not room for all of these players all at once but i'm really hoping maybe a couple can get their chance and not just fritter it away, come in and really make meaningful contributions at the highest level to demand selection...in much the same way guys like Curren, Billings, Dunstan and Newnes have gone about it...Yes their of varying age and afl experience but all have the ability to potentially make their mark on the back half of this year, and we really need some of them too, if not all. Go Saints!!

Yes Markworth is often forgotten but to date he is not getting to enough contests and getting his hands on the ball enough BUT he needs time coming back from a year off
AwayInUSA no longer ... have based myself back in Melbourne for a decade of Saintsational Success (with regular trips back to the USA)

Milera
TDL
Murdoch should get a run
Holmes if we get another ruck injury he could see himself as our first ruck.
Whitey- play him to give us a taste.

Milera and TDL are average VFL players, along with Beau. They are not part of our future!gringo wrote:Milera

Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

Milera, Acres, Murdoch, Roberton, Simpkin, Ross, Markworth, Lee, Shenton, Dunnell, I'd love to see all of these guys get a decent run in the ones, some may not make it but let's give them a well deserved shot

Would be a stunning turn of events for Holmes if Longer struggles to pull up week in week out throughout the next few months. News of him trouncing Bellchambers is very promising.
And we supposedly overloaded with ruckmen?

Re: Players to look out for in the 2nd half of the season
Lee didn't appear to play for Sandy on the weekend from what I can gather, anyone know why? I presume from what I heard that they were getting a late preseason into him, was he rested ont he weekend or injured?
Would like to see Dunstan back in along with Milera and Bruce.
Don't think Ross and Dunstan are in together at this stage, as we start to lack pace, so maybe won't see both in the team until after Lenny has finished up.
Out would be Geary, Savage, Gwilt.
