Free kick, definitely. Report? Borderline rough conduct. Can't give a 50, not in the rules !!plugger66 wrote:jcmbt wrote:Why wasnt that fifty umpired suggested it was dangerous two rules one for the battlers and free for all with the favourites

Rough conduct. Should've been reported. That sort of crap needs to be stamped out of the game through dishing out suspensions. Extraordinarily dangerous. A dog act.
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

And that's without Kosi playing!Munga wrote:I reckon Roo has been KO'd at least half a dozen times this year.
The player should be cited under Rough Conduct - Reckless, Medium, Body. This is a level 1 charge drawing 125 demerit points.
I actually think it was a deliberate mongrel act (like Dennis) but the MRP is weak and the damage was only done to Nick.

Agreed 100%White Winmar wrote:Rough conduct. Should've been reported. That sort of crap needs to be stamped out of the game through dishing out suspensions. Extraordinarily dangerous. A dog act.
I've always said that tunneling isn't taken as seriously in footy as it should be.
There have been some very serious spinal injuries in rugby union in the past because of this tactic at lineouts, as a result it's viewed as a very serious offence in that code - it should be the same in our game.
I have an old mate in England who went through 12 months of rehabilitation just to be able to walk again after someone took out his legs at a lineout back in the 90s in a local club game. He never played again after that.
IMO it should be a reportable offence and an automatic 50 metres.
It still astounds me how blase some people still are about this kind of dog act. It's unbelievably dangerous.

I doubt it because he only hurt his back.

Re: Roo be tunneled
What you saw was correct. He was concussed and even convulsed for a brief time. He hit his head on the ground when he landed. He should have stayed off for the rest of the match, but through a combination of his own determination to continue to play and weak decision making by the medical staff, he went back onto the ground. The whole incident was a bit of a disgrace.SainterK wrote:His arms went up like he was concussed, did we test him?

Not how i saw it. His back hit the ground and very minor contact to the head if any.If he was even slightly concussed they would do a test but we seem to know more than the doctors even though they speak to the player.
Re: Roo be tunneled
I agree, he was looking somewhere else on the bench, he did hit his head you're right...perfectionist wrote:What you saw was correct. He was concussed and even convulsed for a brief time.
