There's the door...

Post: # 1492067Post Winmar7 »

It's time to go…

C Jones (can’t kick)
A Schneider (was a good pick up, but is now too slow and injury prone)
TDL (useless, squib, waste of a pick)
T Milera (see above)
B Maister (saw the writing on the wall)

Trade bait – Lee, Simpkin, Gwilt, Saunders, Dunell

…sign Billings and Dunstan to 10 year contracts - and get Ahmed Saad back

They will keep Jones for another year.

Plus Tom Lee signed a 2yr contract this year so he's going nowhere..........

And what do you expect to get for those 4 in a trade?

I get the feeling anyone outside Roo, Acres, Dunstan, Billings and Hickey would be on the table if the deal's right....Jack Steven included.

Have to wait another season before they can be offered a contract. Isn't it AFL rule when first drafted they have to be with that club 2 years before they can be engaged in any other contract negotiations?

I may be wrong, but I think that's how it goes.

Towards the end of next season we will be possibly wanting to sign them on for a few years if they continue with the standards they both set this season.

Roo and Billings are the only good players on our list.
Hayes is retiring.

So everyone else, who hasn't signed contracts, is on the chopping block.

We have to make space some how. We have multiple rookies who are worth upgrading and we need to bring in young talent.

I'd like to see the following changes:

Out: Hayes, Maister, Jones, Schneider, Gwilt, Milera, Dennis-Lane, Dunell
Upgrade: Weller, Templeton, Shenton

Delist and re rookie Minchington.

Leaving five spots on the senior list and three on the rookie list.

Still plenty of senior experience, too with Riewoldt, Montagna, Fisher, Dempster, Armitage, Gilbert, Geary and Ray on the list.

Harsh?

We finished bottom, shyte percentage and all.

Pelican has to cut hard and deep.

It's business season for us.

Bring on the carnage!

Saunders and Lee both have lots of potential why trade them until we have decided what they might be capable of? Siposs, Dunell and Markworth have had longer for no extra benefit so why not some of them?

You can get a 10 year contract from day one if the club and player agree. What you cant do is get paid more than the set wage for the first 2 years. I think Marc Murphy may have got a 4 year deal when he first started at Carlton. Hopefully they will sign an extension towards the end of this season.

I would be happy with that but would keep Milera

Agree totally. As for his kicking he is actually a good kick but when rushed makes poor decisions and sometimes rushes the kick. When fully fit he has more time and makes right decisions and doesnt rush the kick. His kicking in the second half of last season was very good because he was fully fit and had the time and pace to make the right decisions.

Not one mention of the guy who should be traded - and we might at least get something for him - Rhys Stanley.

You're joking aren't you? Dunstan can play, Bruce can play, Hickey can play, Longer is going to be something.
I think your assessment of the list is a bit harsh. Acres looks alright too.

I can't wait for the actual list managers to tell us who the current list cloggers are.

They won't word it like that, they'll just inform us who has been delisted...

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

I don't see why we don't just cut loose and delist the entire list. Just shake some s*** up. Lets be honest not one Saint would be best 22 on any list even in the Ammos especially the first year players...bones as brittle as chalk and ligaments like blades of grass. We should forfeit the final game and line them all up and let the members punch them in the nose.

I'm not suggesting we should move him on, I think it would be a poor decision.

I just think Pelchen is gonna be pretty open minded with any offers that come our way. He showed that with McAvoylast season.

If we can include Ray in a trade to snag an under twenty selection that would be good business.
Maybe something stupid Lyon might go for.
