Huddo's VFL review

Jason Holmes
Holmesy dominated in the ruck, kicked a goal, and had another chance to kick a second. I thought he was our best player and he gave us first use. His ruck work was terrific all day. He got involved on the spread a lot more and he’s consistently improving this aspect of his game.

Spencer White
Spencer had a couple of great highlights. He took the game on out of defence, took about five bounces and then kicked it inside 50. He was often outnumbered but I was really pleased with the way he competed. There are signs there that if he can just continue to build and show that same endeavour, that he can make big improvements this season.
Holmesy would have to be getting close to Longer and Peirce now? There is some really strong competition for that second ruck/forward spot (if it exists at all). All three have their strengths and weaknesses but they're probably pretty close on balance.

Glad to hear about Buddy. I reckon he is showing slow incremental improvement each year. A bit like Newnes and Ross have done over the last 3 years.

Homes must be improving at a scary rate. The NAB challenge must have taught him a thing or two. Who knows what might come of him?

Very interested to see how holmes developes, no illusions he is going to take the AFL by storm this year etc but definently want to see what he's capable of. Think it will be an exciting thing to watch this year.

Holmes is really knocking the door down eh.

"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
