In the Essendope thread, 'big carlosis' mentioned the names of a couple of Saint legends, Baldock & Payze from that wonderful team that gave us glory.
I know a couple of people who read this site, know players from that '66 team, so incase they don't already know, Brian Sierra's wife died last week.

I saw your post so I rang a mate who is a good friend of Brians.
I didn't know he was in Canada on a cruise ship and it was two in the morning.

Very sad!
I was talking to Brian's brother Michael a couple of weeks ago.

Same here. He is our priest. Great guy. Not that I have any interest in religion but my daughter did go to St peters.

St Peters, East Bentleigh?...Mrs BF and myself were married there... Is old Father Heriot still with us?

He was our parish priest at St Philips in Blackburn and the day after the Saints won the 1966 flag he came out with the classic - "
This is the gospel according to St Kilda ". I was only 6 years old but I remember it crystal clear.

The Couldabeens interviewed Sierra yesterday but didn't hear him mention his mother.
He did say that Brian is prone to exaggeration and the size of the shark keeps growing.
He lamented the lack of facilities at Moorabbin compared to West Coast.
Says his prime loyalty is to the Saints and hopes at least one of his two small boys will support us.
