Swapsies

Post: # 1561346Post whiskers3614 »

Ignoring draft picks etc, counting the latest player transactions between us and other clubs.
Who were the players concerned (not talking direct swaps) and who won/lost out of it.
I'll start it off
EG
Swans. Walsh Dennis-Lane nil all draw
Geelong Gamble-Stanley clear win to Geelong
Freo Roberton- Dawson slight win to us?

I'm not sure what you mean, but I think what you mean might be

Essendon: Andrew Lovett/Jimmy Gwilt - Dons win

No offence, but what's the point?

Brisbane: Jason Gram/Goose McGuire - Saints win, considering output at 2nd club only

Pies: Scott Watters/Robert Harvey ? (In terms of coaching) probably pies win but how good is coach Robert Harvey? Watters coaching was alright, the rest of the package let him down.

Nobody has specified what Watters did wrong, apart from the non-specific "got everyone offside".

I'm more interested in Harv's talent as an asst coach. I (perhaps unfairly) don't imagine he's that good, but happy to be proven otherwise.

Don't know about his thinking at all but his ability to clearly verbalise is almost non-existent!

Like me Harvey is unlikely to win more than a couple of nobel prizes.

He has Pendelbury and Swan in his midfield.
Not that hard to coach, but he has an amateur head coach in Buckley, just as Essendon has an amateur head coach in Hird.
Both head coaches failed to learn via a long career as coaching assistants.

It is well time for Harvey to move to an assistant coach role at another club if he wishes to develop.

Collingwood don't appoint people as head assistant coach for no reason. He obviously has something going for him. He also thinks he can be a head coach, based on his wanting the Saints job, and I don't imagine Harvey would have an ill-perceived sense of self worth.

Yeah, I can't imagine a Brownlow Medallist and champion of the game could have an "ill-perceived sense of self worth". Unless their name is James Hird, or Jason Akermanis, or Ben Cousins, or Brian Wilson, etc etc etc.
