Sorry if this sounds crazy, but what exactly is the point of sponsoring an AFL listed player?

I don't get it. They are paid very well compared to the majority of people out there (including myself).

This is different from raising money for a local football club etc with limited funds etc, so what exactly is the money raised going to/for exactly?

I'm doing it because I imagine the money goes to the club. Not sure if it goes towards the player payments, but it doesn't matter. If the money goes to the club then that's what counts.

Nothing to do with the player. To be honest if a player wasn't sponsored at all they would probably be very happy as they wouldn't have to attend functions. All the money goes to the club. Its just like a membership which for a lot of people is basically a donation. So is this. We can say why give but our club is something like 9 million in debt. Hardly flushed with funds.

Plugs, please re-consider your choice to stand down. Great that you took it up. You have total confidence of the mods to collect and distribute the money and any tickets or associated items.

I'm sure a more trustworthy person will get ore shares sold. Its a bit emabarrassing though as the Saints guy has my details. I will pass them on to the new volunteer.
