Re: Hol-mes
Holmes was a very good experiment but unless able to be rookied cannot hold a spot on the main list as cannot carry 4 ruckmen. His tap work and athleticism is exceptional however around the ground there is nothing. 20 years ago would have been better style to carry such a player but not in an age where ruck men need to provide more than just taps

Oh dear. He just keeps putting his head up as somebody is about to pull the trigger, doesn't he? Trade Hickey. Yep, Citywest is a true genius and we are so grateful that he is not part of our recruiting staff.

Re: Hol-mes
I agree completely and would add that, with the exception of Gresham being 'managed' in the last game of the year, our selection policies have been based on merit. If Longer or Pierce were going better than Holmes they would have been selected in front of him. At present they're not. Holmes has a better leap than either of them notwithstanding the improvement in Lewis Pierce's tapwork this year. When he gives our midfielders first use he shepherds the ball carrier v well and when he doesn't he tackles.BigMart wrote:Tom's been good in 2016
But he's not an 'all time great'
That's as silly as City Wests comment to trade him...
I would also suggest Tom would be worth Pick 10-15 as Brad Ottens was at Geelong many years ago (pick 12)
I would trade Longer in a heart beat. He would get overs... He is actually no better than Holmes, neither can get a kick.
Holmes has no currency and is cheap.

Re: Hol-mes
I think Holmes has really showed something and I hope he persists with this sport. Loved how he was never beaten in the middle against Carlton and Brisbane.
But is he good enough to stay on the list? Probably not.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

What makes you think Longer still has what it takes? He hardly played a game this year. Hickey will finish in our top 5 on B&F night. You want us to trade away a potential premiership ruckman?
