Its ridiculous that one objection can result in the project being delayed by 7 months and potentially completely derailed if VCAT rule against us

Re: Moorabbin redevelopment delayed
Of course it has... this sounding familiar to anyone whole reason we had to leave in the first place.
It's so irritating. Like Moorabbin is the gambling capital of the Melbourne

Re: Moorabbin redevelopment delayed
Why dont we just start on say 40 machines and slowly and gradually sneak the number up over a decade?

FFS go over the top of this idiot resident causing the challenge.
Can't it be taken immediately to a higher court?
This is a joke of a process

Better start liking Seaford, doubt we'll be going anywhere.
The club should have rebuilt the social club on South road, kept them separate from the Training Centre.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Yep. It can be if it comes to that. I agree it is crap that a single resident can complain about something like pokies.saintspremiers wrote:FFS go over the top of this idiot resident causing the challenge.

Pokies may well be a genuine issue to complain about - that is fine - but it is up the state government to regulate/legislate.
If the state govt says it is ok - well it is ok.
If you want to change the law - that is also fine - but you should be lobbying the state govt for law reform or voting for an anti-pokies party if you want to.
It is a waste of time thrashing this out at local govt level when it is a state govt issue.
If this person is anti-pokies then what difference does it make if there are 40 or 80 pokies in this one venue when there are thousands more in a 10km radius.
A waste of everyone's time and money.

Re: Moorabbin redevelopment delayed
Sounds like a pathetic power trip from a so-called concerned resident. Some people need to get a life. She's like those idiots who go to football club AGMs and make a total arse of themselves by criticising everything. it's just their personality, and in this case it's probably an old bag who hates football, and this is here way of sticking the finger up at the game in her own deluded way.

Re: Moorabbin redevelopment delayed
There are always complaints to any new building complexes or property restructures.I cant see why it wouldnt be fast tracked through the system given the benefits to the community as a whole.
If its only one resident then it will virtually go ahead. The problem will only be if theres a large protest.
As far as sporting facilities, would Moorabbin want to be placed back on the map? It would be good for local business and the community but if you lived in Kingston council and not in Moorabbin would you be happy to see your rates spent there? eg You lived in Chelsea.
Personally I can only see the benifits. eg Increase in your property value, great sporting facilities for the community in general and greater trade for surrounding business, theres nothing else in the area to boost this.
Pokies can be played in the local pubs already its a load of crap protest

Re: Moorabbin redevelopment delayed
I quick google search shows that Ms Lelah is indeed quite a networker.
Is she running for Council in the upcoming elections by any chance? I smell a political hack with personal political ambitions.
Keep those ambitions to yourself Ms Lelah, just what we need, more moribund teachers in politics!
