Kurt tippett
What would people think of going for Tippett in a trade , swans need salary relief, could we offer to pay some of his enormous
Contract and offer a 2nd/3rd rounder like GWS did with Mumford??
At his best Tippett could add a lot to our structure. ? Marks surround paddy and
Roo next year could Tippett add Amy value , we have heaps of cash let's use it .

Not the worst idea I've heard. But could we get him to come here?

Yes on big coin, but never been the player he was after franklin arrived he's one of those players that plays better if he's the main target

Re: Kurt tippett
No.
Inconsistent.
Not good enough as a ruck.
Not good enough as a key forward.
What we need now are elite mids with elite ballskills. With other positions now we have reasonable coverage and swapping in players will only lead to marginal gains.

Behind closed doors Kurt is known as a very mentally weak player. Not just behind Sydney's doors either.

Hmmm... I don't see why this isn't worth looking into. He could be acquired dirt cheap. If he got his act together, he could be quite handy. I see it as a possible bargain opportunity, a la Michael Gardiner.

Re: Kurt tippett
Come off it! Gardiner was literally on the scrap heap when we got him. Riddled by chronic injuries as well as off field issues. Had loads of talent but WC were looking to off load him . In fact, my memory isn't great, but wasn't he delisted at the time? In any event I don't put Tippett in anything like the same category as Gards. Tippet has nil off field issues and nil chronic issues injury wise. Tippett could do with some of Gard's mongrel, but Sydney are hardly going to let that type of investment just walk out the door like Gardiner did.Sainternist wrote:Hmmm... For mine Tippett is a big No. Incredibly over rated. Another player who would be recruited for what he 'could' be rather than what he has been.

Re: Kurt tippett
A definite no from me. I couldn't believe the Swans took him away from the Crows. Most Crow supporters were happy to see him go. A backward step if we were after him.

Re: Kurt tippett
When you look at how badly the Saints develop players,
Tippett would actually get worse with us.
The road to Seaford is littered with "couldabeens"
So many players just making up numbers.
Only a few succeed in spite of, not because of, the culture at Seaford.

Re: Kurt tippett
If I can remember correctly, Tippett was unable to play multiple times in his early days - due to concussion. Swans seemed to have cured him of the habit of leading with his head - do we need another player that has a history of concussion related injuries?

Massively overrated footballer, saw his years with the crows and now the swans. Absolutely no point in investing in Tippett.
