What I heard on the grapevine @ the time suggested we were very keen on landing P. Cripps bit the blues had an earlier pick.
I took some solace in the fact that our recruiters rated him & wanted him @ Moorabbin.
The first 1/2 last night surprised me to an extent some of the team plays were better than I was expecting.
However those recent 2nd. 1/2s are feeling like a mountain we need to learn how to climb before improvement happens. . That knee to Carlisle's head severely reduced our odds. Looking at the team without Carlisle, Bruce & Paddy was interesting to say the least.
Well done to Rice & Philips for making an impact.

Jordan Degoey 2019 (750,000 for 5 years....would be happy to pay more) (Collingwood will struggle to match this if they get t Lynch)
Andrew Gaff 2019 (700,000 for 5 years) (west coast will struggle to match this if we inflate McGovern's price)
Aaron Hall 2019 for Mav and our future 3rd
Kayden Lambert (500,000 for 4 years) seriously underpaid at the tigers can play (tigers will struggle to retain him if they get t lynch)
Josh Kelly 2020 (1.2 million a year for 8 years)
Peter Wright 2020 (he will be out of contract so whatever gets it done with GC)
The best player in the draft this year.....cant get this wrong

We also need a new coach.....I would be looking at Ratten or if one of the Scott boys is available they would be great. I am convinced Richo just doesn't have the ability to take up to the next level, much like Brendan McCartney at the bulldogs. Even Caracella would be a get coach with someone like Richo as a senior assitant.
We need new assistant coaches that can develop and coach. Lenny Hayes and Nick Reiwoldt should be priority.

Actually I would look at Hodge for coach if we could get him from Brisbane. I still believe Roo is a good choice but he would need experienced assistants like maybe a Mark Williams.

At the time hall wanted to stay at GC due to the ablett factor and a few other things.
