Tonight feels different

Post: # 1734307Post ss1986 »

I feel like I’ve been told a close relative has a terminal illness.

Never felt this badly about my football club.

Hope has been ripped away, and our Doctors, being the Saints board, are either incompetent or have run out of medicine.

This could be terminal.

I honestly think Nick Riewoldt, Lenny Hayes, Nicky Dal and Harves are the only men now that could get us supporters interested again.

Either that quartet- or Al Clarkson or as a last resort, Paul Roos.

No one else is going to inspire us to get up off our deathbed in time.

Many on here have been trying to alert people that the club is in genuine crisis.

Sadly the Mods on here supported the blue sky brigade spivs and banned the honest voices of dissent.

Shame.

It is a genuine CRISIS for our club.

Does anyone know a StKilda supporter who has even luke warm confidence that we are on the right path?
I don't know any!

And are there any cashed up syndicates of passionate rich supporters who could muster a board challenge?

It does feel different. Sitting at the game last night watching the lack of fight and desire in the first quarter was as bad as the North game. Before the game Richo said we have players back in form and have our game back. He has no idea and thats the worry. Long term a loss to Gold Coast might be the best thing. The hierarchy need to act.

Yes I must say as a supporter of 50 odd years it’s very disheartening and yet I know this group isn’t this bad.I think a change at board & coaching level is needed & urgently!

I've been around through pretty bad times for the Saints, and this is dragging me right back to those days. This is failure much worse than expected, and Sumner, Richo and Finnis have been peddling disingenuous corporate spin to mask what has been a 5 year period of failure.

We have little to show, and it is time for drastic change from the top down. Never experienced such a period where so many of my Saints mates have just lost interest, and multiply that by thousands across our supporter base.

I do.

I'm certainly not convinced we're being coached well, but I don't mind the list. Don't love it, but as I've said before (as far back as 2013!) it was always going to be a long and slow rebuild until we had a good senior layer.

That's still 18 months - 2 years away.

Huh? The list is probably one of the top 5 worst in the history of the game! I see NOT one elite player. Not even close. It’s a unmitagated total utter disaster. Come on.
