I can't stand the things, but another 20 years. Saints have the lowest amount and only generate 2 mil from them which sounds reasonable and ok to me...compared to Hawthorn the family club.

I am not buying the spin from Collingwood they did that for the community. My guess that a venue or two were losing money so sold the licences for a pretty penny & give themselves some cash flow. Doubt we'll see them distancing themselves from on line betting.

I'd rather see proceeds from Pokies go into sporting / community clubs such as RSLs than the privately owned Zagames & Mathiesons.

I ultimately wish the pokies would go back to the border.

How much of that do we pocket though? What do we net though???

And then, there's the other side of the financial ledger.
- The cost of those years in the outer Siberian wilderness, for starters.
- Interest paid on that $10 million debt. (Lets say conservatively 6% p.a. That's $600,000 p.a. Ouch! ) Selling those misery machines would go a bloody long way, maybe all the way, to writing off that albatross around the neck of our beloved club.

We do that, and I'd be joining you Ted in the lol'g.

You are either in the game and rip as much as you can out of the low socioeconomic sectors of society or you don't. Personally I don't care either way, if they are not blowing the cash on pokies I doubt they will be investing it in the stock market, but how is Saints level acceptable but Hawthorn's not?
