Billings to join leadership group

Post: # 1778085Post shrodes »

Well done to JB in place of injured Roberton.

https://outline.com/PZwX8J
St Kilda have elevated Jack Billings to the club's leadership group to fill the place of the injured Dylan Roberton, who has already revealed he'll miss the season.

The Age understands Billings, 23, was told of the decision in the aftermath of Roberton announcing that he would take a year out of the game following the latest concern surrounding his heart.

I would’ve put Long into the leadership group to be honest.

Jack Steele would be my choice.

In the top 5 in the league for tackles, he's always oozed hardness and hard work,
a great role model.
But just my uninformed opinion.

I’d have liked to have read that Billings categorically demanded the spot as he was the best man for the job

It may just be the wording of the article... but he almost sounds like an unwitting participant

I think his stats (Ross) from the second JLT game rated his disposal efficiency at around 75%

There has always been a lot of misinformed rubbish posted on this site about Ross from his very first year at the club.

Thankfully the club doesn't agree as can be seen from his best and fairest win and the fact that he has now been appointed as vice captain.

Undoubtedly he is one of the Saints best players and a future captain of the club.

Billings Star is ready to shine i am confident he will take the next step.
Good move and I hope it helps us secure him long term as he starts hitting his prime.

One of those reporter type twits that "On the Couch" uses for inside gossip said last night that Billing had put off contract negotiations until mid season to see how things were going with the Saints. One of the regulars pipped up that Billings was being highly sought.

Hopefully promoting him into the leadership group might stengthen the bond.

Membership numbers are showing warning signs that the 'bond'' between club and supporters is weakening imo

If/when we lose one of Gresh/Billings or perhaps Acres the apologists will start turning on the people they've been supporting imho.

The early indicator that there was trouble brewing between playing group and the head coach was during Cats match last year, then there were the rumours at the end of 2018 that Jack Steven wanted out. Interestingly, he's out of the leadership group atm

The fact that Billings agreed to part of the leadership group is a massive positive. It shows he wants to help the club go forward & improve. If he intended to leave it would be far easier for him to decline being in the leadership group.

Shoulda kicked fiddy goals last year.

But he didnt.

If he wants to go, he can go.

Would have been impressive from 40 shots at goal.

We are heading for our second best membership tally ever despite a terrible season last year. If we win a few early we will get our best membership total ever. Your post is quite simply factually incorrect. I don't understand how SUPPORTERS (look up the definition) can make stuff up in order to denegrate the club. Makes absolutely no sense to me.
