Marvel Stadium for Sunday June 7 has been officially officially confirmed for the StKilda vs Port Adelaide Game.
The Saints-Power round 11 clash – originally scheduled for Sunday, May 31 in Shanghai – will instead be played at Marvel Stadium in round 12 on Sunday, June 7 at 5.40pm AEST.
With Marvel Stadium unavailable on Saturday and Sunday of round 11, both teams will now play a week later and then switch their planned bye weekend from round 12 to 11.

Interestingly Vic Gov hasconfirmed that they have paid some $$$ for the game to be in Vic, but would not say how much.
So good news for Saints as presumably that would be to the Saints.

I'm not cancelling flights until it's official.

I am pleased that the 4 points will now be easier to secure, but from a personal perspective it is annoying as I am currently booked to fly out on what was meant to be a bye weekend

Hopefully it was part of a package via the AFL as you will at least get a 100% refund from such packages.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Wed 04 Mar 2020 1:24pmIs that official?saintsRrising wrote: ↑Wed 04 Mar 2020 1:17pm Marvel Stadium for Sunday June 7 has been officially officially confirmed for the StKilda vs Port Adelaide Game.

Of course, it had to be another @#*&@! Sunday game. I'm sooooooo sick of them. And don't give me the old chestnut .... because we deserve it - Good Friday game, etc. etc.
In 2019 The Kangaroos got hammered by 58 points, but guess what? They still got the Good Friday game this year.

Not to mention we lose the incentive package and accepted our normal terms of agreement for games at Marvel...Not that we had any choice.
I don't get why they didnt go QLD ?
The QLD Minister of Sport and Rec said on the ABC Saturday they offered the same financial deal as China to the AFL.
Is there more $ for AFL to play at Melbourne?
What gives?

We played Carlton on the same day three years ago and had nearly 48k there.

This was Carlton. We’re talking about Port here. Big difference.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Wed 04 Mar 2020 6:39pmThis is a long weekend.GSG wrote:Of course, it had to be another @#*&@! Sunday game. But you’re complaining about the time slot. We can’t do much about who we’re playing.GSG wrote:This was Carlton. We’re talking about Port here. That Carlton game was the biggest crowd we’ve had for a Docklands home game since a Friday night against Richmond in 2013.
For context on the Carlton game, it was 12th v 9th.

Yes but one team was deluded if they thought they could beat the might of Delaney, Lee, Minchington, Pierce and Wright.

As an aside ...Minchington confirmed on his Instagram overnight that he hasn't been offered a rookie contract at Hawthorn for 2020. Career over ...kosifantutti wrote: ↑Wed 04 Mar 2020 10:19pm Yes but one team was deluded if they thought they could beat the might of Delaney, Lee, Minchington, Pierce and Wright.

Given COVID-19 is only really dangerous to those that are elderly, they should allow anyone under the age of 65 in and ban only the older ones.
This would be a sensible move.
Sure, you can be younger and not badly effected and still spread it, but reality is once a thousand people or more have it in a community, you can’t realistically contain it.

Careful, some on here will call you racist but it’s close to the mark.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Tue 03 Mar 2020 11:26pm Just glad we aren't playing in China for two reasons
1) The obvious health risks due to their filthy habits and slack health regulations.
2) Simply playing games there gives some credence and legitimacy to the policies pursued by the Chinese government.
In fact China is a totalitarian dictatorship with severely repressive internal policies and an aggressive external agenda to politically and economically dominate.
We should have nothing to do with them much less accepting their dirty tainted money.
Their disgusting wild animal food trade is a disgrace and is now banned - so like most things will be a black market trade.
How can we change a culture of eating animals and moreso animal parts that aren’t for human consumption??
Now I hear the Port game at Marvel is about supporting the Chinese community. That’s all good but it should also be about a re-education process so these disgusting habits don’t create yet another virus epidemic like SARS, MERS, Swine flu and now COVID-19.
Will they ever learn??

What's your thinking here? Keep out anyone who might die but let in anyone who's fit enough to spread the virus around?saintspremiers wrote: ↑Thu 05 Mar 2020 10:23amGiven COVID-19 is only really dangerous to those that are elderly, they should allow anyone under the age of 65 in and ban only the older ones.
