The small forward quandary

Post: # 1843217Post skeptic »

Kent got a lot of the ball... the most of the three by far and missed 2 sitters and fluffed every kick into forward 50

Lonie was pretty much unsighted all day except when he bobbed up against momentum in the 3rd and missed his bread and butter

Butler presented well at times but really doesn’t seem to back his disposal at all... went for the pass from 40 out, and another one from 50... seemed really ineffective to me

IMO the 3 small forward strategy is a loser one and you simply can’t have x3 1 dimensional players like this in the team because they struggle to contribute against the run of play.

I think you drop one for Battle, and another for mid that can rest forward and rotate Gresh up forward more.

Thoughts?

Kent’s no good and Lonie is worse.

Gresh should spend more time up forward, that’s where he’s dangerous. In the midfield he’s just another mediocre player.

Get rid of Kent.

Lonie has done enough to earn his spot for now.

Butler looked ok I guess.

But as said, we can only carry 3 of these players in the side, if that.

22 disposals 5 tackles not good enough for you

Didn’t lose this game because of him ... crikey

Zak was the standout player for the game. Yes he missed a few shots but his bullocking work and pace around the ground were real positives.

Agreed... far more effective then Ross, Hannebery and Dunstan who according to some get a free pass now because they didn’t even get to have shots!!!
