Re: Marshall to miss (Tier 1 Covid exposure)
That just about sums up our season. We really just cannot take a trick. Surely it is a sign that the stars will align in 2022.

Re: Marshall to miss (Tier 1 Covid exposure)
Delta is slowly making it's way towards the AFL, will they get the season finished as planned or will it derail.
The Saints won't be able to Holler for a Marshall this weekend.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Thought the same when the GWS and Sydney guys had to miss. Surely they trained next day, surely Dunkley was near the Bont next day.

That's right. If Marshall has to isolate then the whole team has to isolate.

Re: Marshall to miss (Tier 1 Covid exposure)
I will give it a crack as I had to deal with this at work a while back. I believe they would be classified as the equivalent of a tier 2 exposure site, as they don't have direct contact with a case, only Rowan and Darragh do. So once they test negative, as they have (and Rowan has as well), they are considered as 'in the clear' so to speak and just need to monitor for symptoms.

They will only be deemed close contacts if he was to test positive.
They only go one step from a positive. If they didn't then effectively we could all be linked to a "positive" by way of six degrees of separation.

Re: Marshall to miss (Tier 1 Covid exposure)
As someone who is currently isolating, I feel I’m an expert on this.
I went to the Carlton Geelong game (yes, I deserve everything I get). It was announced as tier 2 on Wednesday so I left work to get a test which was negative. I went back to work on Thursday and received a text on Friday to say I had to isolate for 14 days because it was now tier 1.
But they’re not following up my contacts even though I worked for 4 days after my exposure. My wife also has to isolate because she lives with me.

My sister and brother-in-law (Carlton supporter) are in the exact same position.kosifantutti wrote: ↑Tue 20 Jul 2021 5:24pmAs someone who is currently isolating, I feel I’m an expert on this.

Told by text last Friday to isolate for 7 days - he becaue he went to the game, she because she lived with him.
Both have tested negative.
Both had been at work all week until notified of change of status.

Re: Marshall to miss (Tier 1 Covid exposure)
I think this is it. A Tier 1 exposure site exists because someone, who has latter tested positive, was there. Close contacts of the person need to get tested asap and isolate for 14 days regardless of the result of the test. These are referred to a primary close contacts. Some of these contacts are obvious - family members, friends spent time with, work colleagues. Just who else is a primary close contact will depend on the size of the site and the proximity of the contact to the case and will be declared by DHS.
For example, all of the MCG was not declared a Tier 1 site, but some parts were. The rest of the MCG was a Tier 2 site. Those who were in the declared sections were deemed to be primary close contacts. They needed to test and isolate for 14 days no matter what the result of the test. Their close contacts (secondary close contacts) needed to test and isolate pending a negative test. They have had no direct contact with the case.
This is the position of the rest of our team and staff, unless RoMa is sharing accommodation with other players/staff. If the primary close contact subsequently tests positive, that is becomes a case, then these secondary close contacts will be upgraded to primary close contacts. In our case, if RoMa was to test positive, the whole team (and many others) will be become primary close contacts. The team could not play for at least 14 days. If another player or staff member developed symptoms, the 14 day count would restart. This is the nightmare scenario for the AFL which they have so far avoided. The speed of infection of the delta variant has changed the equation that saw the AFL through 2020.

Wondered why Hunter travelled.
Club has certainly upset one or more of the gods during off season. The gods barrack for Footscray, perhaps, explains their nothing is a throw rule - but not Geelong's.

Haven't fielded a full strength team all year. Not even close. Here we go again.
Marshall was tested last week. Negative result.

He's returned 3 negative tests. I just want this to end.
I get my 2nd jab on August 20th.

Couldn’t agree more and I had mine yesterday. Once everyone has had the chance to be vaccinated the government should just say, That’s it. No more lockdowns.Bruce G McAbee wrote: ↑Tue 20 Jul 2021 6:38pm He's returned 3 negative tests. I just want this to end.

If you don’t want to get vaccinated, fair enough it is your health and your life. Just don’t expect me to lock down to protect you.

Re: Marshall to miss (Tier 1 Covid exposure)
Different rules should apply to the vaccinated. That’s the only way we will get the masses jabbed. Agree it’s the only way out
