Has he been a good signing ?
As i have read many a time on this forum was cooked before we signed him.
Plays a game in the VFL and you get excited on the hope that he is picked next week.
I guess he will at the expense of Jones.
But is he our future going forward.?
BOOM BOOM
Was worth the risk.

Call me a conservative but I reckon you're wasting your, "BOOM BOOM".

There's only so much BOOM in the world.

Try a BAM or even dust off the TADA.

Seriously alot of arguments have been won on the back of a well placed CHA CHA CHA.

If you have to use the BOOM mix it with BADA BING...BADA BOOM. Only one BOOM is used in this classic and this effectively is saving a BOOM for another zinger.

Just a few thoughts

Michael Gardiner came to us having not played footy for 12 months and seemingly stuffed

Did not play in 07
Missed most of 08

Played a crucial role in 09/10

Sometimes you take a risk on quality

Looks like Bytel and Hanners are certain to be picked. Jones will go out so our midfield will be full of plodders

Steele
Crouch
Sebby
Hanners
Bytel

No line breakers there except Hanners....Crickey what a crisis!

We should be using Gresh, Sinclair, Hill, Butler, Higgins, nwm, DMac as the run past receivers. We have the speed just need the game plan to utilise.

OH LA LA.

Comes straight back into the seniors next week

IN: Hanners
OUT: Byrnes

I'd expect that won't be the only change either
Jones & Hill should be the first out this week IMO, both are playing bruise free footy again!

on paper I'd agree, but game day experience tells me all those players are stop and prop types, crab kicks to the side, backwards, or to whatever the safest option is within their skill set.

Our list is in bad shape.

Hanners needs more than 70% game time at VFL level. Bytel the same before they rush back to AFL level.

Our midfield is in crisis, it needs extra crabs immediately.

I would spin it different. The habitual stop/proppers do so because they know if they go there's nothing ahead to target. Thats structure, system, coaching.
Why do Cats, Dees, Freo, Sydney always play on or feed a run past to keep the ball moving forward?
I'd argue high IQ coaching.

Wood needs to go too. Tries hard but makes too many mistakes.

Also sick of players who continually fumble the ball and drop easy marks. You reading Gresh?

Not sure

But you need to pay 95% of the cap

No one else wanted to come to StK

Should we have paid a C grade player 800?

We did not pay Michael Gardiner a massive and long-term deal like we did with Hanna's.

So if Gardiner never got on the park it was no big deal.

Whereas the size of Hanna's contract meant that we could not pursue players like say Treloar when the opportunity arose.

So yes trade price in pick for Hannas was worth the risk. We all know that if on the park he is real quality.

But that massive contract as written was not worth the risk. If it had of been more performance related then all good, but it was not.

Cheers saintsRrising for a sensible post, pointing out the bleeding obvious.

How someone can compare the Gardiner signing with Hannebery's is mind boggling and quite frankly, delusional.

Pretty sure we actually had to pay the full cap, can’t keep paying 95% after doing it for a few years so we really needed to pay someone and hanners was the lucky one available.

FFS get Sinclair on the ball
Our BEST player uses it superbly get him in the guts running forward of centre Brett you dumb schmuck
I’d rather see Lienert come back in and play off HB - can use it too and too hood for VFL
There are things we can do
