Brad Hill - 3 more years

Post: # 2057651Post amusingname »

According to AFL.com, coming up for a contract extension.

Been great this year, would be his final contract. I presume it will be on slightly less money than what he came over on, also will be over 100 games for the saints soon (just in case any father/son prospect emerges down the track!).

On first glance seemed a fraction long for his age but I think he has such a good mentoring role at the club particularly with the indigenous fellas that this can only be a good thing, even if he doesn't play out that final year fully.

He has also been extremely durable so playing until 34 doesn't seem like too much of a stretch. As long as he keeps his running ability he should still be a good contributor in the final year of the deal.

I was very critical of him initially (we still paid too much) but his years under Ross have been great, comfortably in the top couple of players

He's playing much better now that he has a coach that has an organized game plan

I have to admit I genuinely hated hill in his first few years; however he’s turned his form around and has been super impressive this season. Great signing.

Good signing. He'd be top 3 in the B&F currently.

Hard to fathom genuinely hating a player that represents our club.
Thinking he was not a good signing, or overpaying, or not being used correctly under Ratten are weird reasons to hate someone. Unless you know him personally...

I was very critical in 2020 and 2021, however changed my tune in his third year with us.

Brad must have been Nostradamus in 2022 because his kpi's started improving 18 months before Ross arrived at St Kilda

Congratulations Brad.

I think 2024 will be his best year with us so far. Fingers crossed he stays fit and healthy

Better be on a big salary reduction if we are giving him 3 years

He’s the sort of player that can go until 35 as long as he stays fit

Hopefully on less than 900k

Why does it matter what he gets paid?
As long as the others are happy with what they're getting.

He has been excellent this year. Hopefully that's not just a contract year bounce. Does seem like a great guy to have around the club

Worth his contract as a leader and mentor alone.
