Brat!,

Well done - Barry Brooks is the player who is yet to get on the board.
I reckon his chance might be coming soon...

Your turn saintbrat

OK - think this through...

last year we got 32,000 and a few

so we are looking for 4,000?

must be ages ago surely?
we wouldn't have had less than 10,000 since 1966?

I'll say around WW11 - less focus on the footy (and we were playing pretty ordinary) - 1945

I'm gonna say during the dark ages of the early 80's...

1982???

Memberships were not marketed and flogged near as much as they are now

In 87 we had Doc to boost our memberships so I'll guess 1986.

close enough saintcat

but wrong way round
1986 4,321
1987 3,924

1990 we hit 11,363 to drop back again the next year, but since 1992 we have been over 11,000

source- football record each week has a page titled-"Historical perspective' on each of the participating clubs
which include venue, player and club stats including memberships since 1984

Ohhh MEMEBRHSIPS!! I was thinking of memberships  .

Amazing that we had our only premiership captain back as coach and still only managed such a low membership total.
I still remember all the hope, that he would finally bring us some success. And still people DIDN'T SIGN UP??!? Unbelievable!!!

So I suppose I have to come up with a question now?
I love trying to get the answers but it's sooooo tough to come up with something that hasn't been asked and won't be too easy to answer.

Alright, let's try something different.
Six degrees (or less) of seperation
no using "played in the same position as.." and no using current Saints players/coaching staff as links

So as an example - From Aaron Foira to Cowboy Neale
could be Aaron was traded from Richmond by Terry Wallace, who played at Hawthorn under Allen Jeans, who coached Cowboy at the Saints in the 60s.
Hope that made sense.

Now it's your turn...

Jason Gram to Neil Roberts

Before his career took off, Jason Gram played for Sale, a Latrobe Valley club with a lot of tradition and a history of star players including Bill Stephenson who played with Neil Roberts in the late 1950's and early 1960's.

Thanks for the reminder Brat.
I'll pose the next Q (waiting on saintcat to agree whether Gram to Roberts is OK).

Here is another Gram (sort of) Q.

Jason kicked 0 goals 4 behinds on the weekend.
Who was the last Saint to achieve this (inauspicious) feat and when?

Gram may have also had a stint in Heyfield. Where Matthew Ferguson also played as a kid.

At sale Gram would have almost certainly played junior footy against Brendan Goddard also.

No not Nick Riewoldt.
You might think that his kicking has let him down but it's not that bad...

On three occassions he has kicked 4 behinds (his worst effort) but in each of those games he has scored multiple goals.

We are looking for the player who has kicked 0 goals 4 behinds.

Milne kicked 0.4 against Richmond in Round 3 of 2004. The Easter Monday game.

I'll guess that was the last.

Not X Clarke - has kicked 3.4 v wet toast in 2003.

There's not that many players who have actually kicked 4 behinds in a match...
