put brooks and Rix on 1 year performance based contracts and let Kosi be first ruck with blake given the run with roles with the faster lighter ruckmen.

I WOULDN"T get more injury prone basket cases over 25 to st kilda unless the case was SO overwhelming as to be irresistable (ie mcintosh or Cox)

i understand the need for a rix, knobel and hackland, and they were serviceable, but the reality is jollys form was only marginally better than hackland in 05

i wouldn't mind Jolly for GOP and a round 3 pick or similar.

I wouldn't trade Maguire for Jolly because thats trade a TV for DVD player when you dont have a second TV...

Get Hudson. He's available and will be on the cheap. Played 22 games this year and surely has a few years left yet. That solves the rucking debate for now and allows us to draft some younger ruckmen for development purposes, as well as develop Van Rheenan and Brooks.

As for Goose, sign him up ASAP. Give him a full pre-season and he'll be awesome, I've got no doubt he can be an All-Australian CHB in the next year or two.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

no to king...i will be fuming if we draft him (nothing against him as a player its just his age and injury concerns are the factors)

just sign up goose already

he'd be as good a punt as m clarke was.

can certainly play the game.

not sure how old j ball was when sydney took him, but was an important part of their premiership.

Agree that it's an area of concern, but no point filling holes with quicksand, again. IMO we do not want another recycled injury prone past his best ruckman who can't beat Blake for a place in the Geelong team.

Why do we always salivate over footballers that have reached the end of their career?
We are to quick to want every player out there.

I am certain the coaching panel, who are involved in trade week this year, know who and what they require.

Sounds like we'll be loading up on kids on draft day... McEvoy for a ruck option, Rance for a tall back.

If he was cheap, he would be worth the punt.

Has played some oustanding football this year.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

thanks for that...fwiw i agree with you...id rather develop a young ruckman with heaps of potential, in hope that he will eventually turn good rather than grab another 'matt clarke' who can ease the pressure for a year

Yes the development of a youngster is IMO preferable to trading away draft picks for recycled goods that aren't wanted. Not that trading isn't a good idea if the deal's right. If we are going to trade then it needs to be for someone who can genuinely add to the list, not someone who's an injury prone punt at best.

If we picked up king in the pre season draft i would have no problems, I am certain he will do more than rix and will be a good backup if gardiner doesnt play or doesnt find form. I do not want koszi to play ruck, him and riewolt coming out of the forward line is our best set up. And if fergus watts doesnt come good then koszi will probably have to play full forward

bulldogs or essendon would pick him before us
