Clearly manipulated so as to give the Saints an absolutely ideal outcome :D

Good effort ... Masten will go earlier than that IMO, and I reckon Henderson might slide a bit. Grimes at #19 is also excellent value from what I've read.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

You don't think they've done a deal with West Coast as part of Mitch Morton's trade?

Dont know much about Spiteri or Hobbs... can you give us a rundown on those two?

Is Jake Spiteri related to the former NSL player and one-time Socceroo, Joe?

Cyril Rioli - 178cm, 74kg - St Marys NT. Despite playing most of the nationals as a small forward due to him recovering from injury he is a genuine midfielder. Has good pace and a nice left foot kick but is good on both sides of his body. His tackling is also very good.
Gets his team mates involved and was the leading goal assist player at the Champs. Showed he was very dangerous up forward with 7 goals in the last champ game against QLD. Has been playing school footy in Melbourne so he will know what to expect when he moves south.
Top 20 pick (courtesy WoM)

Dawson Simpson - 205cm, 97 kg-Murray Bushrangers. Very tall ruckman who wins a lot of the tap work. I haven't seen a lot of him play and when I have I have thought he needs to do more around the ground. Doesn't really win a lot of the footy. Someone will have a look at simply because of his height.
Pick 40 plus. (courtesy WoM)

Jake Spiteri - 193cm, 87kg-Northern Knights. Solid kid who has played Ruck, CHF and CHB for the Knights this year. He goes ok in the ruck but is not really a genuine ruckman. Leads up well and is reasonably mobile at CHF. Doesn't win huge amounts of the footy but has had a few strong games. Pace is reasonable for a big guy. His defensive skills are ok. Kicking is ok on the right. Can take a strong Mark.
Pick 40 plus. (courtesy WoM)

Ryan Hobbs - 194cm, 89kg-North Ballarat Rebels. Injury destroyed season but his early season form might be remembered. Can play either end and not too dissimilar to the Brown twins who got drafted last season. Solid unit with a little more quality than some other similar ones. I was surprised he handled FB well, I had him pegged as a pure FF. A little quicker than it says on the tin … and physical. (courtesy Weaver)

Well done Sax, I haven't seen any of the potential draftee's play so I am interested to read mock drafts.

From what I have read I do not believe Rioli no matter how talented is the type of player we need. I think we need a genuine hard running onballer as opposed to a Rioli who appears a Tambling type player. But onece again only from what I read.

Anyone at 205cm with some ability would be well worth a crack for our third round selection.

Not sure about Simpson having talent.. I saw Michael Hurley towl him up in the Metro v Country game at the U/18 champs this year. Simpson went forward, had a good 13 cm height advantage & Hurley just worked him under the ball with ease.

At 205cm he'd be a long term project but at the moment he plays like a basketballer who is waiting for a pushing foul to be called.

It's emerged Spiteri wasn't drafted because his named sounded too ethnic, and that he was told by one club that "with a surname like Spiteri, you should try soccer".

Hopefully he proves them wrong, overcomes such a handicap and gets a rookie-listing somewhere.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.
