Its obvious there are a lot of Sainters on here who started following the Saints in our halcyon years of the 1960's. Me included at 48, though my 14 year old daughter is more mature and responsible  . I started following the Saints when I was born, my grandparents ran a pub in Saint Kilda and Dad was a diehard Sainter.

another early sixties baby. 46.
Had Saints booties in my bassinet and a Saints jumper before I could walk.
My dad was a country boy and came to the city to play with the Saints. Everyone in my family are died in the wool RW&B.

I bemoan the fact that my age now aligns itself with less and less player numbers....ie, I am Fred Campbell...or maybe Timmy Pekin.

Seems Peanut is the only one older so far.

I'm 58 and was at MCG on that last Saturday in September '66 and at Sierakowski's pub that night (slightly underage).

Hope to be at the G again on September 27 this year (have to find a new venue to celebrate as Ralph's pub is now a Dan Murphys).

 Am enjoying this thread but want to now post some replies -
- am 60 Oct this year, when do you turn 60 Peanut?
-am a female who has "confessed?" her age.
- went to Bentleigh West(preps), Ormond East & McKinnon High(was school captain in '66 :!:  ).

My earliest memory is waiting with my Pop to catch a tram to the Junction Oval when I was 2! No recollection of game but bet we lost.
At school most kids followed Melb. or Coll.
My favourite players over the years have been Peter Bennett, Billy Young, Leo Garlick, Darrell Baldock, Carl Ditterich, Trevor Barker, Tony Lockett, Robert Harvey, Nick Riewoldt and Brendan Goddard.

The best things about barracking for the Saints in the 50's & 60's was the friendships between the fans, their passion & loyalty and all the times we pulled off the totally unexpected eg beating Melb by a point ('57 or 8) Melb undefeated , Saints yet to win a game - the celebrations topped any premiership wins I've seen!
In some ways it' easier following a struggling team because expectations aren't high and you savour every victory. BUT I WANT ANOTHER FLAG!!!!

Well, it looks like I am the oldest so far - I am 62 - and I have been following the Saints for a very long time (well before a lot of you were born).

This question was posed year or two back...

The interesting thing then was from my recollection that the ages were a lot more widesped with many kids as well ages up in their 70's.

This time round it is a much tighter band.

So were have Generation Y and YY as well as our retired fans gone??? ...

I think its called generation VW actually, as a large percentage of us were probably conceived in the back of a Kombi.
