The positives..
*winning with a truck load of injuries (this should not be under-estmated)
*Milney
*fairly exciting game to watch
*Banger
*Dal
*Gardi and Schneider both back (though both obviously suffering from lack of match practice)
*4 points
*back in the 8

Winning under difficult circumstances.
Good effort in the end - I've only just watched and perhaps the pre-conditioning of the doom and gloom folk had be expecting the worst.
I'll add another one - Raph Clarke in the first 15min of the 3rd quarter - was very good IMO. and a big part of the goal rush.

Re: The positives..
Evidently Dempster played most of the game with an injury too....saintsRrising wrote:*winning with a truck load of injuries (this should not be under-estmated)
So this makes our win even more meritorious in hindsight.
So add him to:
*Bakes
*Roo
*Goose
*x
Plus we know that Gardi (and possibly Schneider) was underdone.

5 from 8 is very doable!
Build on this energy Saints.
This game could go a long way to drawing out the vital togetherness necessary to get us to September.
Don't let Collingwood stop us Sainters.
Front foot all night Saints!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
- charlies kicking for goal (need to put himself in the position to kick 2-3 and make an impact on the game)
- lenny hayes game. Great hands when our players were out on their feet.
- Thought birss was VERY good, especially in that final quarter. His kicking has improved and once the pace goes off the ball can actually hurt the opposition. Would like to see him and raph rotate off a HFF and into the midfield (with schneider and xavier doing the same off the other flank).
- schneiders work off a wing in the second half. If this is what he can show without match fitness, look out for when he gets a month behind him.
- Winning despite getting killed in the guts. The skills, especially in the second half improved out of sight.
- We beat an improving side whose team consists of some very skilled and hard at it players. Also we came up against richo playing the best game in a good 5 years. Plus brown is now showing why it was worth the tigers waiting for, those finishing skills are awesome.
There is alot of upside, especially after some better news on the tribunal and injury front. IMO I think if we can split the next month 2-2 we are right in this season. The fact that we have yet to play the bottom three sides is a very good side. I can see freo falling in a heap now, they played their granny against the cats two weeks ago and the loss to melbourne will destroy them (remember us v hawks in 99?). West coast are a rabble and I would back us against melbourne.
Huge game in a fotnights time. 8 point game.
