mmm was at the game on sunday and ferguson had a good game... not great.... the ball was getting pumped in their every 2 seconds and he never really took that many marks and goals... alot of just goals in play that anyone could of kicked.... i don't think he should be in unless we were completely desperate... Clinton Jones was BOG by an absolute MILE and is too good for VFL deserves to be playing

Would any one consider bringing Gwilt in. He played a few good games in defence last year which included an outstanding job on Hall.

Jones as BOG is good to hear cause against Pies his speed will be helpful BUT he absolutely has to hit a target or he doesnt have to many chances left for me. In footy these days with goals from turn overs - you cant carry blokes who cant kick.

forward and didnt do much... down day...

About Jones he didn't miss many targets and had most inside 50's from where i was sitting and the goal telly tells the story on how that turned out

B: Baker - Blake - Goddard
HB: Geary - S.Fisher - Gram
C: Montagna - Hayes - Dal Santo
HF: Armitage - C.Gardiner - Schneider
F: Fergusson - Koschitzke - Milne
R: King/Gardiner - Ball - Harvey

Int: Gehrig, McEvoy/Gardiner, C.Jones, R.Clarke/Steven

Side depends on Kings availability, hoping Fraser can show something as I'm not sure on Kosi at all, starting to take Plugger66's pov over the big fella which worries me because I don't really rate him as a ruckman.

I believe Blake can do the job on Rocca, I'd prefer Fisher not to play on Cloke but what other options do we have? how serious is Maxie's set back?

IMO the following must show something:
Jason Gram
Fraser Gehrig
Justin Koschitzke
Nick Dal Santo
Raphael Clarke

They've been said before and alot over the last couple of weeks but I believe Dal has to prove once again he can play against a higher quality opposition, a decent game against a young/struggling side every 3 weeks isn't enough, Gram looks so out of form/soft for the ball that he's a shadow of the man that we're used too, Gehrig... well he's deadweight at the moment, the taking the best defender argument can only last so long and against Collingwood he wont have a high quality opponent, I'm pretty sold on Raph not being upto it, I'm not going to attack the bloke or anything petty I just don't think he has the poise and right frame of mind to play at the elite level.

Well yes he had a good game.

However of note was:

*Hayes and Joey copped the hard tags and not Dal.....and Hayes certainly had a poor return

*Dal not only did not have a hard tag....but was often unmanned.
Parts of the game Richo would stand on one wing with no opponent...and Dal was elsewhere (and sometimes the opposite wing) with no opponent.

NO SCNIEDER?? and we may need another defender in the mix

also don't like the Kozi/G ff combo
or Raph in back half
Gram/Medhust a worry

so maybe
Bakes Blake Gram
Goddard S Fisher Dempster
Birss Montegna Schnieder
C Gardner Kozi NDS
Milne Gehrig R Clarke

King/M Gardner Hayes Ball

M Gardner/McEvoy Harvey Armo C Jones

(and hope we don't need to put Raph down back
otherwise for balance it would be Geary or LFisher for CJ)

and the only spot for Fergy would be for G at FF!

I would think the INS and OUTS from our last game will be:

OUT: Roo, X, Maguire

IN: King, Jones, Blake

The speculative is Fraser. I have a feeling he may get dropped (shocking form, axe-time, Pies backline is fleet-footed), and one of Allen or Ferguson to come in.

That would be all the changes though you'd think. Geary stiff, McEvoy only a King or Gardiner injury away me thinks.

Really hope Jones does get selected in front of say L Fisher.

Interesting reading between the lines of the Casey reports - was Fiora being played as a tagger? Could be well-suited to the role.

Spot on. Perhaps Geary instead of Blake.

I'd be loathed to go with Jones...

He is, much like Rix, a VFL player only.. His skill level is poor, we know that, but its his poise and decision making that are too far below AFL level.. This cannot be improved, and are shown up time and again when he's been given an opportunity..

His most recent game a few weeks ago was just deplorable...

As a potential AFL player, Geary is miles ahead, despite VFL performances...

Yeh..I noted that too.

Maybe RL is try to re-invent him as a fleet footed tagger that can win some ball.

Wortha try...and may get him to concentrate more. Concentration I think is Fiora's main problem.

I think it's his work-rate (same thing??) and a run with type of role may mean he works a lot harder over the duration of a game. If he gets the pill he uses it well - very good overhead mark and a thumping kick.
Be an interesting exercise - make or break for the fizzer.

Yes....

I just think he goes ""missing""...such a role may get him to lift his workrate.

Geary for Baker...

Bakes was not yet back to his earlier form...so not as big a loss for this week as some may think.

Roo is our biggest out....

Then X.
Then Bakes..
Then Goose (as form was not good....though his bigger body down back will be missed as it can free up Fisher).

Plus Max of course who was already out.

I dearly hope that King is in fact an in.

In: King, Geary, CJ, Blake

So many changes may well give GTrain another chance.

I would expect if we did not have so many outs that GTrains place may have been undera lot more serious review.

shame about baker, would have been handy on davis or thomas.

agree with the above changes. Perhaps, just perhaps mini might come in for CJ.... how close to match day do we need to elevate a rookie?
