Does Armitage have OP ? !!

Post: # 587508Post Eastern »

There has to be some sort of logical reason why this guy is up & down between seniors and scorps and my guess is that it is some sort of injury, possibly OP.

I ask about OP but don't have a great deal, if any evidence. I note that he wears those longish bike pants, he looks like he has lost a yard in pace and doesn't look like he is all that confident with his kicking. These are also signs of OP. Remember how Luke Ball was over the past 2 years. It might have developed as he has tried to increase the size of his motor so that he can play a greater role in the midfield.

I hope its not OP. I hope its not attitude. I know there's something wrong, I just don't know exactly what. Does anyone else have any ideas or opinions? !!

I watched the Casey game yesterday on ABC1 and I think Armtage did extremely well and I could not understand he was not with the seniors....an injury is an injury and I do not think it comes and goes depending whether you are playing for the 1 or 2 team............incidentally I felt the same about Birss....why was he not in the seniors.......

His stats in the seniors are:
Description Date Opponent Result K HB D M G B T HO GA GC I50 FF FA DT SC
Round 11 8th Jun Western Bulldogs Loss 79-106 5 5 10 2 0 0 1 0 0 0 4 0 0 35 51
Round 10 1st Jun Melbourne Win 129-50 7 9 16 5 0 1 4 0 0 0 1 1 1 69 74
Round 8 16th May Collingwood Loss 94-103 3 6 9 3 2 0 1 0 0 2 1 2 1 45 55
Round 7 3rd May Richmond Win 110-107 7 3 10 5 1 0 6 0 0 1 2 0 2 66 45
Round 6 26th Apr Port Adelaide Loss 61-82 5 2 7 3 1 0 5 0 0 1 1 1 0 55 49
Round 5 18th Apr Essendon Win 123-87 13 7 20 4 2 1 3 0 0 2 3 1 0

Add to this the observation that when played in the seniors that he has been promising...but fades in and out of the game. He is a nice kick at goal though.

His last seniors game was quiet. now yes his TOG is not high...but this may also flag that his fitness still needs to be built too.

remember too that the saints have been fading after quarter time...and that armo has been part of the group of players that have faded.

Armo is being developed...and dropping him back allows him to play a more dominant role at Casey...get his confidence and work rate up.

He is still young and improving....and will probably be elevated again this week to play Freo.

Has huge lapses of concentration.........

really been caught out by opposition a few times...

lazy when we don't have the ball.....

sent back again to 2's

the penny will (hope) drop for him.

Suprised by lack of comment on this...................was also his problem last year

What is OP. Does it mean ordinary performance because RL thinks he has got it.

osteidus pubis (apologies for spelling)

Is the wearing of the pubic bone causing long term influmation and swelling. Thats off my head.

Don't think armo is suffering from it, just struggling to hold his spot. But is working hard when pushed back to casey levels and is developing better then last year.

People just want to bash Lyon... and they see this as an easy avenue for that.

He's only young and if Lyon makes good on his comments, he'll be playing most of the rest of the year, barring injury.

Spot on.

Saw this first hand at the Doggies game.

I think he'll be a bloody good player - but needs these problems ironed out.

Also, he is actually quite quick, for anyone who was wondering.
