I've never really been a Raph Clarke bagger, but i've also never been a huge fan.
However, something just seems different this week. Seemingly all of the chips were down for him; his fathers illness, being diagnosed with epilepsy and then going public with the story, and some shocking worst on ground performances playing for Casey, to the point of being heckled by the ~500 large crowd down at the fields. Now, he has seemed to put his demons behind him, strung some great games for Casey, and has been named to play in the saints side. Any lesser man would have not been able to do this.
This is why I have faith in Raph Clarke. Mark my words, he will impress many people on Sunday, and may just get us over the line. Not to heap any pressure on the guy, but I really think this could be his breakout game, as was Gwilt's return a few weeks back after his shocker against Carlton.
Hopefully he plays forward, but I have a sneaking suspicion he will be playing the "Goddard" role in the backline, hopefully without the tantrums.
Raph Clarke - I'm going to back him this week.
