i'd say Rooy would be only hope. Chips hasnt been as good as last year and Lenny has clearly been our second best player but to many in his position.

Are you telling me that the seventh best geelong player has had a better year than some of the other clubs best.....half of them ride off the coat-tails of Ablett, Corey, Bartel, Ling, Scarlett....

Millburn a better season than Sam Fisher......don't think so....Sam would be almost on par with M.Scarlett ATM..

II dont see Milburn as being AA this year. And Milne would be stiff to miss out again. Not many small men kick as many goals as he does.

This year there's been a few around his range, Motlop (49) , Medhurst (47), even Akermanis (39).

Still, I rate him as THE most consistent small man for kicking goals over the last 4-5 years.

imo of course!

Roo and Fish would have to be certainties IMO. Milne has had a good but inconsistent year and i think Johnson definitely deserves a spot ahead of him.

Always gets the second biggest man but also plays some attacking defensive football, pretty safe in that backline position i think.

I reckon he plays the perfect "sweepers" role.

I just can't work out why opposition coaches continually allow this to happen.

Tom Harley hasn't played on the 2nd Tall for years, his days as CHB are long gone. Last year Egan lined up on the CHF's and this year Taylor, Mackie and occasionally Milburn, Hunt and Rooke have all done this in preference to him this year. Plays a good role as third man up in contests and sweeping up in defence without ever really playing on a dangerous forward. Had a good year but an average player, doesn't deserve AA.

Not only does Chips deserve it more, Max >>> Harley

There is not enough love for the Maxy Taxi in this thread. Second only to Scarlett in terms of shut down defenders.

Comparison between Fisher and Milburn.

Fisher averages more disposals, more marks and more inside 50s per game than Milburn in 2008.

Fisher is clearly one of the standout defenders in the AFL - all of my non-St Kilda supporting mates think so and Gerard Healy and Mike Sheahan are also of that view to name a couple ...

I reckon Scarlett and Bock are locks for the back half. Mattner and Morris will probably take a couple of the small defensive roles. I would bet that Sam Fisher will finally be rewarded with a spot back there too. Who gets the last spot is anybody's guess. I'll say Craig Bolton because all the selectors love him.

The midfield is pretty simple too. Ablett, Bartel and Cooney should get spots in the middle. Richo will get one of the wings. Brent Harvey will either get the other or get named on a flank. Cox will get the ruck spot. They'll probably squeeze Judd and Kirk in there or on the bench.

Up front they'll name Franklin and Fev, and they'll probably name at least one of Roo, Pav or Brown. My guess is they'll go with Motlop and Steve Johnson as smaller options.

On the IC, they'll go with either Sandilands or Hille, then the leftovers.

I expect the final team to look something like this:

Sam Fisher - Matthew Scarlett - Martin Mattner
Craig Bolton - Nathan Bock - Dale Morris
Jimmy Bartel - Brett Kirk (C) - Matthew Richardson
Steve Johnson - Lance Franklin - Brent Harvey
Nick Riewoldt (VC) - Brendan Fevola - Daniel Motlop
Dean Cox - Adam Cooney - Gary Ablett

David Hille - Chris Judd - Sam Mitchell - Matthew Pavlich
