Steven King today

Post: # 631961Post st.byron »

Thought King was great this afternoon. Haven't seen the stats but he was very influential, especially in the last quarter. His experience was invaluable.
Thought he was in our best five. Used his body so well and provided plenty of tucker for the mids. Great game from him.

He has been fantastic for the Saints, and he's good around the ground.

I agree, however he had crap opposition, it'll be good to see how he goes against Blake next week.
Payback is a bitch
Who is going to be the bitch???

Followed Saints since '71
Sir Robert Harvey was my favorite player
Stewie Lowe and Plugger before that.
Loved watching Rooey and Jack Steven
Now looking forward to the future

Some people make things happen, some people watch things happen, but most just say " What the f#&k happened!".

Things are starting to align for us.
Kingy and C Gardiner could play out of their skins next week.
Charlie would love to have a blinder and show our Club he can cut it.
King would definately have unfinished business after Blake carried on at the dome earlier this season.

Roo,BJ,Lenny and Harves will all give 100%

Just imagine if we could roll them !

It is POSSIBLE !

I had a good feeling he'd be a good acquisition, even though somewhat long in the tooth. Has brought in some experience, height and (as mentioned above) he skills are pretty good.
He was pretty average against his old side early in the season though. Hopefully he'll rise to the occaision.

Is Kosi also in your top 5?

King: 5 kicks, 4 handpasses, 4 marks, 22 hitouts, 0 tackles

Kosi: 13 kicks, 9 handpasses, 14 marks, 12 hitouts, 3 tackles.

Not havin a go at King, but would like to see Kosi given a bit of credit where its due.

Close. Like I said on the "Kosi" thread, I thought Kosi was good today
Quoting the stats doesn''t tell the whole story though. Time and again King hit it straight to our mids or to their advantage. Used his body really well and provided a bullocking presence around the packs. His experience and presence were a big plus for us. I could be wrong but I didn''t notice Kosi's ruck work having the impact of King. And I'd be interested to know how many of Kosi's possessions were uncontested. Not knocking him, but thought King was more influential.Anyone know a site that has this info?

My top 5 today would be, in no particular order :

BJ
Lenny
Grammy
Milney
Kingy

hhmm i cant find CP stats either.

i often give kosi credit for his bodywork and it gets shut down. i thought king was really good today, dont get me wrong, but i was really pleased to see kosi put in such a good game considering his last 3 weeks have been poor.

 Was thinking about that incident the other day. Bless Powelly's cotton socks. Have we got any mongrel left in this team? I personally would love to see young Selwood brought down a notch or two. Step up Lenny and knock him into next year.
