We need Luke Ball...and I emphasise "need"

Post: # 638483Post SainterK »

I remember reading posts not so long ago that Luke Ball was a good player, but certainly not a game winner. Perhaps we fail to recognise all aspects of what a game winners credentials are?

We certainly could of done with a level of intensity and belief that he brings to the table in todays match. The guy is just itching to come back in....you can see it in his body language in training, when they crossed to him today during the match, and in every media interview he does.

Here's hoping that all is well, and he makes a significant return to our finals campaign.

No...we al know Luke is a good player.

It is just that with his injuries he is not the elite player that he could have been.

However even the Luke Ball as he is a is a huge asset to our midfield...particularly with his discipline and winning of contested bal.

No doubt we need him, but we are not going to get him back this year.

He re-injured his hamstring a week ago, euphemistically termed a setback, that's another two weeks - if it was minor. He did no running that I saw last week - not a good sign.

We need a new midfield! The current midfield did reasonably well in 2004, but it aint going to take us to a flag in the future.

When Ball is out there is FAR too much left to Lenny to do.

Ball is definately a NEED.

We lacked an EXTRACTOR yesterday, and will again against the Pies without him.

Lenny mentioned it in an interview - that Geelong were much harder bodies than us.

Need more grunt in the centre - a player that can WIN THE BALL.

Armitage is surely a chance.
