URGENTLY REQUIRED: a bit of MONGREL!

Post: # 650184Post thejiggingsaint »

The best team won no disputing it! But the reality is we need to replace the hardness that went when we lost Hamill, Powell and Baker (will we see him next year?) Too many undoubtedly talented players without the hard edge so necessary in Finals success.
We're not THAT far off being the side we all want to be...but our priority has to be HARDNESS thats what the hawks had over us last night!

Agreed but it depends on if the umps let you get away with it, they did for Hawthorn, for us they pay frees against for agression

its not so much 'dirty tactics' or niggle.....its the head over the footy and hit the body hard kinda s*** we lack.
i mean bally is head over it 24/7
lenny too when he is in there and not running his ass off
we just need a real tough nut of a bastard that has no fear and no second thoughts, but has a controlled temper

I'd rather some pace and kicking skills through the middle......our mids can have zero hurt factor at times.....

Hardness is Lenny Hayes, Luke Ball, S.Baker type....win the footy hardness

The type of hit-man stuff is defunct....

howl me down if u want but i think we're a good show for Ben Cousins. Has everything we want as a player (minus the rep)

Gut working hard runner
Excellent disposal both sides
Finals experience
Takes no crap out of no1
Is a leader on the footy field

Guys like Ball and Dal would learn a lot about becoming elite footballers from him and IMO our culture now is strong enough to manage a bad egg which I think he isn't... i think he's passed that too.

Didnt we have Harvs for all their careers. Not sure they can learn more off Benny compared to Harvs. Also dont think we are close enough to winning a GF to get a 31 year old out of footy for 2 years.

No I wouldnt but I dont care about the risk. It is his age that is the problem.

Bring back rocket Keogh. He may need to have a decent pre-season as his fitness may not be upto scratch ;).

hmmmm
i reckon he could go another 2 years.
what i am worried is if he is off the 'stuff' hows the body going to react to that.
i preferred kerr not so long ago, but his body is already damaged (shoulders, ankles, foot?)
whens all the draft stuff start anyway?

The boys need to add a bowl of cement to their diet so they can 'harden the FCUK up!'

I'd take Cousins ahead of Kerr.
Cousins has been all the way down and the day is dawning as to what has been going on his life. Yes it is a risk, but we need to take the chance and give him a second chance.
As for Kerr, he hasn't gone past being a player with an alcohol and anger management problem and probably never will.
Send him to Collwingwood and he can get the tours of Melbourne's nightclubs from Didak.

Agreed one is 31 and the other is 25. One was banned for a year the other wasnt. One missed nearly 2 years of footy the other missed 6 weeks. Yep no brainer Cousins over Kerr.

I don't think we'll get either to be honest!
