Loving our trades :)

Post: # 733323Post saintsRrising »

Seriously...

How good has our trading been since Drain and our new recruiting guy started :P :D :D

Now I thought that a second rounder for Schneider and Dempster last year was truly exceptional....and King for NOTHING stunning.

But we have followed it up this year with Farren Ray (and a third round pick) for pick 31.

Ray has been in our best every week...argubably close to BOG in several....and ge was stunning again today. BJ being so good probably costing him BOG today.

Haha anyone else enjoy giving their Dogs mates s*** when Farren was running around like he had no opponent?

Great times.

ray has been a master stroke hasnt he ? Though it was always a 50/50 gamble. Thta cliched calssic second chance effect really seems to be ringing true, most impressed.

King is critical to get back ASAP. Props to MG, very very good game.

Farren got so much of the ball and was so effective that the dogs fans stopped booing him. It was only highlighting the fact he was playing a blinder.

Ray is a great pickup and will only get better. We may have lost in the Fiora pickup and some thought he was similar in softness but he has quickly shown otherwise. Was very good again today.

The issue was never about his courage, he was always har denough at the ball, it was always his disposal and decision making both of which have improved out of site since arriving at the club.

We actually got a third round pick with Ray for a second. We moved down 16 spots and got Farren Ray for it!

I had my doubts about bringing Ray into the club. I thought he was too outside and handball happy. I now have no concerns about Farren Ray. The kid is a gun.

Also need to remember that we got Nick Heyne with the pick we got with Ray.

Who we could have very possibly taken with our second round pick anyway.

While I always thought it was a good trade...and I too had some doubts not in terms of him being in our 22, but in terms of him being VERY good.

He is being VERY good....and for his size is sensational overhead.....and is a perefect blend withour other mids.

He has added a lot of run to our eam.

Ray has been great, but needs to play the whole season at this level.

But the main reason for my reply is that can Saints Rising please remove the football boot from the bottom of every post. After 15000 posts it is becoming very annoying as you scroll through and takes up a lot of room.

Sorry for the whinge,

Go Saints

It's all academic anyway, but I don't think we would have taken him. We took extra time before making our picks in the third round. If we'd had Heyne as a target for the second round, I don't think we would have needed the extra time. It would have been thank you very much and move on.

I know I would have loved to have grabbed Ash Smith. But I'll take Heyne and Ray at this point. I doubt there are many that regret that trade right now outside of Footscray.
