Schneider man

Post: # 749125Post Enrico_Misso »

We created heaps of opportunities inside our 50 last night.
But when the ball wasn't marked by Roo, Kosi or Goddard it spilled free for the Melb defence to clear fairly easily.

Normally Milne would be hovering to either crumb the spillage of put pressure on the defence.

Why wasn't Schneider getting himself into those positions?

Difficult to pick up where he was on the telecast, and maybe he was playing a different role?
But he certainly didn't seem to be where a crumbing forward should be.

???

Was at the game and he missed Miney as he got the number one stopper.
Just proves how good Milney is. Nice player Schneider but no wherenear Milney.

Schneider also played further up the ground & I thought he was a pretty good link to the fwd line.

He delivered the ball beautifully too.

We definitely missed the Tip Rat

Schneider had the chance to step up and didn't, disappointing effort.

I havent seen the game at all, no foxtel :( . Both of our small forwards have been sucked up the ground for the last couple of weeks though. Concerning trend IMO.

Maybe this year?

I must point out I only watched the game on TV, but I agree that there were times when the ball spilled in our forward 50 that I wondered where was our designated crumber?

couple of times I noticed the Schneiderman right where he should have been ready to pounce , but others snagged the goal , and he did play up the ground a fair bit and did well for mine!
He's not a problem , not to us anyway!! LOL

He was ordinary, when he was needed to step up.

Schneider is a very good, intelligent footballer.

Needed to step up pffffft!

He may not get heaps of it but usually does something very useful when he does. I like him out there.

Well from my view at the game on the wing I would say it was because Mini was the designated crumber....with Schneider playing well out from goals.

is maqualter dangerous enough on goal to play that role, do you think?

No harm trying him.

But Milne is elite in the role.

agree there's no-one better than milne at it. but others, including schneider, can do it better than macqualter, imo.

gwilt and mini have been effective at times this season as defensive forwards, but i wish they'd offer a bit more in the way of goals.

that's more so for gwilt than mini though.

I think that Ross likes Schneider playing as a link man across the wing as he delivers the ball beautifully to the big forwards.

The earlier post was spot on re: Mini being the fwd line crumber.

Personally I thing Schneider has been very good all year but there is only one Yapper (he would have kicked 3 or 4 on Sat night).
