While we all know that Joey has been have a great year tackle wise the player above that most surprised me was Schneider...coming in at number six..and almost number 5.

Also interesting is Mini...who has one tackle more than Schneider.

These two are clearly working hard and tackling hard and are a key reason for our superb forward pressure this year.

It also indicates that the Schneiderman is probably not getting the kudos he deserves for his team play.

Schneider is a very talented player. He's finally settled in like GArdi, King and co.

Schneider adds a lot more to our team than goals alone.

Love his little taps, flicks, dummy runs and shepards - all stuff you notice when you watch him closely. They don't get recorded on the stats sheet, but they help our forward line immensely.

Fortunately, tackles do get noted, and he's clearly stepped up again this year.

Had a reasonable year in '08, has absolutely looked the part in '09.

Only 12 touches yesterday (his lowest since R4), but 101 Supercoach points is indicative of the value he has to the team.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Like when Kosi and Roo complement each other, so do milne and schneider, to match up both must be hard for opposition coached

A North supporter in front of me yesterday at the game kept commenting to his mates every time Schneider got the ball. He was saying that he never gets a hard possession and always hangs out on the outside of packs and picks up the loose ball, and how he's a wuss, gets easy goals, etc etc.

Isn't that pretty much the definition of a crumbing forward? How is that a bad thing?

The north supporter knows nothing, just trying not to acknowledge their own problems. Shannon Grant was the proverbial "tyre swing", just hung out the back (but could finish).

Schneider is a very clever player, extremely vital to our structure and game plan.

Schneider is so smart, especially when he marks outside of the 50, he calmy assesses his option and always hits his man.

I still feel he could work a bit harder than he does but I feel that has been improving every week.

Also great to see Ray pretty high on that list too...

Perhaps his new hair colour is to help bring our attention to all those nice things that he does...

Agree with this - I was stunned when some have called for him to be dropped....do people actually watch the game?

Montagna is really surprising on that list and I must admit NOW hes added tackling/defence to a great running/attack game......has his importance to the side gone past Luke Balls?

Clearance wise (where I thought Ball would be well ahead) for 2009 Balls had 49, Montagna 46.......1%ers Ball avg 5.7.....Montagna....6.2.....

My new nickname for him is "The Sniperman".

He can definitely hit the opposition when well, especially when they're off guard.
