Oh fair enough then. No worries. I am looking forward to J.Smith playing and he is more of a backman.

Ross will probably lump for Dempster who had a very good return game with Sandy last week.

Nah.

Dempster only one game back after alien abduction and didn't do much.

Reckon Ross will bring Armo back and do a bit of a backline juggle.

Two threads?

Late in the game when Dawson returned on the field, didn't Ross send Gwilt forward and then backed everyone to win their one on one's without worrying about a loose man in defence?

Hope it's nothing too serious, we will need him to structure up against Freo and Geelong.

Perhaps Cahill should get a game in the magoos first?

Hmmm, I really hope he is right for the Freo game. We'll need our talls when we take on Freo I reckon.

Surely we have learnt that backline juggles aren't the go. Bring in Johnson or Gaertner. Armo should only come in for Eddy.

There are a few options for this week but sadly we havent got a tall to replace Zac so they are going to have to regig the backline slightly. Because of this i think Geary may get a go as he is a backman even though a small but that will not hurt against the Tigers.

The other options are Heyne, Armo, Steven and Smith. I think Steven and Smith are ther least likely so it is either Heyne or Armo if they dont go with Geary.

For the West Coast game we brought in Clarke, Peake & Stanley for Gram (groin), Armitage & Geary. So our Round 9 team was taller than our Round 8 team. Last week Eddy for Heyne, much of a muchness. So we are not lacking in height (we have 4 ruckmen after all!)

IMO Johnson is nowhere near ready. Gaertner, while showing promise, is also not ready for senior AFL IMO. In any event that would require promotion to the senior list and you wouldn’t do that based on Dawson missing for 1 week.

You say surely we have learnt that backline juggles aren't the go, but bringing in a new untried full back amounts to juggling anyway.

Therefore I still say Armo in for Dawson is the most likely option (if Eddy was to be dropped I would expect Geary/Steven to be recalled)

Geary has spent time down back, so I would have though he may be ahead of the rest...but not sure about the value of his defensive pressure, as opposed to his value as a running back.

Of course, Gwilt may go down back and Armo/Steven mid or forward.

I agree there's few options to replace Zac, plus there's no real need to replace him when you look at the Tigers' forward line.

Probablty not a bad week for Zac to miss. Tiges aren't overly tall down back and we can play a running defender. Reckon Gilbert, Blake and Fish should be able to handle whatever talls they have, which leaves Raph, Bakes and possibly Geary to run the ball out.
