Very interesting move by the club.

From memory last years (and 1997s) open session was on thursday, so I would assume any session post monday will be closed.

The club obviously thought it was better to get the media/fan obligations done early in the week to keep everything low key. I'm assuming they want to keep tactics and fitness of certain players out of the public glare

The pressure will all be on the pies this week, especially if Swan wins the brownlow

Thanks Eastern. Looks like I will be there around at 9:30. Train times are not being friendly.

You will need to be there at 8:30am based on last year - the crowd was about 10 deep around the ground by the time the players came out.

You will be right if you get there at 10am as long as the whole ground is open. Also doubt it will be as many as last year because it is earlier in the week.

I'm OK with that, I just wanted to be able to go down and clap and give a 'woo saints' so this is fine.

There will be alot of things that they are probably more experienced about this week, I don't mind it early in the week if it helps them get focused.

Pretty sure last year was on the Tuesday.

Bit more than 3, more like a 7 or 8 minute walk.

Will be there with bells on considering I live 2 minutes away! :D

Last year was a Tuesday.

Back in 97 there was no such thing as a closed training session so there were sessions on the Tuesday and Thursday

1997 was the best grand final week. Training on the Thursday was brilliant. I didn't make it to last year's one on the Tuesday because I was working. Will be there tomorrow though.

annoyed it's during normal work hours so I can't go with the kids yet again this year.

What's wrong with, say, Tuesday or Wednesday night/late arvo, still early enough in the week?

As Plugger said, it's not real training, just a chance to see the players close up at Moorabbin for an hour.

Have the week off so I will be there and the Grand Final parade Friday.
I'm hoping to really enjoy this Grand Final, especially the winning of it.

Is this going to be the only open training for the week?

If it is, then that is pretty ordinary.

You better win the flag saints since you are not giving your supporters much this week.

Do you want us to win the Flag or have an open session so that all and sundry can keep an eye on what is going on and report back to the filth?

Seriously, not sure what the problem is with Monday training? Does Wednesday or Thursday suit your calendar better? Where is that FFS emoticon when you need it........
