He was wearing number 8 at training on Tuesday. Nice to see that, despite the enormity of the occasion for this great Saints footballer, he has maintained his sense of humour. I'm sure his teammates would have enjoyed the laugh, perhaps even a past teammate too.

Bakes does have a sense of humour, but I don't think they get to choose what numbers they wear - even for training. He has said in the past that they turn up at the club & the jumpers they are wearing for that day are hung over their lockers...
I think the reason that Roo is the only one whose number doesn't change is because he stands out and it is obviously him - the rest of the players, to the 'uneducated', (cue journos and 'Robert Eddy Awareness Week') just 'blend' in and could be mistaken for others.
