That last qtr fadeout was very nearly a repeat of that debacle of a Crows game.

If we can’t run out games when we’re in the winners box seat, there is no way we’re playing finals.

The OP discussed the Pies junk time players well what about our last quarter efforts?

St.Kilda have kicked a combined 1.6 in the last quarter from the last 3 games.. 12 points in 3 games.

Either we are playing an unsustainable game style, the players are mentally soft or the team is not fit enough. We have fallen off cliffs in games nearly every week it's just inexcusable!

We came out in the last quarter with the same defensive mindset as in the last quarter of the final v Dogs last year. Basically went into our shell and invited the opposition back into the game

The team is either unfit or lazy possibly both. In either case the fitness staff and coaches have to find some answers

The last quarter fade-out was yet again a prime example of the team lacking strong on-field leadership, an issue that they really need to do some hard work on. I could not see a single player taking the initiative after Collingwood started scoring their 6 goals to get the players together in a huddle and lay down the law to stop the rot.

I accept that a win is a win and that's great, but they wasted the opportunity when leading by 7 goals at 3/4 time to get a big boost in their percentage, so crucial if they want to play finals!

Maybe the players felt sorry for Harves???

I could see a mindset at the start of the last .. they started chipping around and weren't taking the game on, were they told to relax and hold the lead ?
If so Ratten nearly blew the game... it wouldn't matter so much except it has happened before, The crows game and there were more.

I'm not the only one that thought half way through the last it was going to be another nightmare. Hard to have a real confidence in this lot.

Style we play is extremely taxing and our guys need to get fitter if that is even possible, or change the game style to something more manageable.

You wouldnt say that if you had of watched the VFL game today. Collingwood have far more depth on their list and a better future. They will get the best and youngest Daicos for just draft points at years end. All they need is a more attacking coach, a key forward target and they will leap frog us in 6 months.
