Would you rather we be at Seaford?
You are a moron. Go and follow Tasmania!
Imagine what it would be if we made the finals once in a while. The extra cats/swans clothing sold in the last 2 days from all the stalls at the MCG would make a huge difference, let alone the other money making ventures (membership, corporate suites, sponsorship)
People conveniently forget Finnis was put there by the AFL because he (and Lethlean) for that matter were no good at their AFL roles and the AFL had to find a job for them.happy feet wrote: ↑Fri 23 Sep 2022 11:35pm I’m amazed that people on here, who really have in all likelihood done not much in there life, never held a position like Finnis, are so critical.
Small minded individuals, the only thing big that they have is their overinflated egos.
What legacy have you left?
Someone crunched the numbers years ago when the AFL officially bought Marvel stadium and changed the stadium deal. If we had the same then that we do now with the same results/crowds…Annoyedsaint wrote: ↑Fri 23 Sep 2022 11:34pmImagine what it would be if we made the finals once in a while. Maybe I’m too damn picky, but isn’t everyone else sick and tired of it being Geelong, Sydney and everyone else for that matter?
Continually shooting ourselves in the foot just won’t cut it anymore. It’s taken Bassett a few years, but maybe….just maybe the penny has dropped with him and he can really take charge and use his clout to get some s*** done.
Completely understand the stadium deal was a joke and didn’t help things, meaning the AFL was obliged in a way to keep us afloat. But one day that will end and we need to be able to stand on our own and grow and the only way that will happen is on field success.skeptic wrote: ↑Sat 24 Sep 2022 12:06amSomeone crunched the numbers years ago when the AFL officially bought Marvel stadium and changed the stadium deal. Instead of being in $12-15m debt (whatever it was), we’d be like $500k in profit.
We just need some success onfield now and things will turn around quickly
If only you'd have agreed to a smaller contract. You might have won us a flag out of Frankston. You legend.B.M wrote: ↑Fri 23 Sep 2022 11:03pm Seaford didn’t bother me a bit… it was a training ground
I couldn’t care if they trained at Timbuktu if the facility was ok
Would you preferred they stayed at Moorabbin in 2010 in a condemned dump?
F*** me, it was 20 mins away
Melbourne train at Cranbourne
Essendon at Tullamarine
Hawthorn at Waverley
All left the spiritual home bulls***, and it doesn’t bother their supporters
We just look for any pathetic excuse
I’m glad we are back at Moorabbin, but that’s because of facilities upgrade
Otherwise, I couldn’t GAF where we train… I don’t think that’s at all important
In my mind
Moorabbin hasn’t been our home ground since 92
Marvel has been our home since 2000
Careful!!! You’ve trigger the usual suspects here that think AFL is for s***s & giggles.1966 wrote: ↑Sat 24 Sep 2022 10:03am Thankfully he has gone.
Led us during the a remarkably insignificant period and apart from introducing gender neutral toilets I don’t think he left any legacy at all.
Let’s hope Lethlean focuses on winning games of football and we move on from the Finnis years very quickly.
Desperation? Personal? Lol. It was humour. The fact you take it personally just adds to the humour.
At least get your facts right.
