Good game today.. despite getting smashed. Great fun. Good to meet lots of posters.

so looks like we won

from the discussion in that thread it appears quite a number of their team were meeting each other "in the flesh" for the first time today

Well it looks like I'm the only one home - all the others still at the pub???

Yep, Saintsational won the game by a lazy 179 points (revenge for 1979!!)

Don't know the scores - but our boys got over 30 goals. It was actually a very good game, played in the right spirit throughout and on a fantastic ground - Gosch's paddock.

The umpiring was just superb as usual - but credit to Illsy who kicked 12, Barks snagged a few and there were plenty of good players. The Craw was his usual reliable self, Daino, Chunx, HD, our ruckman No.20 and the bloke wearing 26 were very good.

Joffa Corfe marshalled his troops very well for the Pies and insisted on the old-fashioned ruck contests so we witnessed shades of Len Thompson and Gary Dempsey in the ruck duels again .. yawn.

may i ask who was that super star running back with the flight of the ball to take an awesome mark and kick the first goal of the game???

i think it might of been me!

the game was all over by quarter time, when we were about 8 goals up.
ive got a video i will post later on.
Joffa is a funny guy! he was trying to rev up his players in the 4th quarter when they were 25 goals down! and whenever one of our players would have a shot on goal he would some how put them off! if you ever need a laugh, just call up joffa!

the bbq afterwards was good, even though i was the only saintsational there, everyone else pissed offto the pub!

and no bratty, i updated the half time score on saintsational on my phone!

They were black and resembled something from the 80's...

We had a streaker at one stage (a small dog...) who, for some reason, decided to run to the wing, and man up on HD... Any guesses who was first to the ball

Congratulations everyone for a great game yesterday a massive team effort dominated all over the field and definately deserved a win to the score of 176 points...

Special Mentions
Ilzy: who dominated in the midfield in the first half and then decided to give others a go in the 2nd half and ended up with 14 goals...
Number 20 who rucked mostly sorry forgot his name: Was very good in the ruck and in the midfield hopefully he plays next time again
Daino: Kicked one of the biggest 70 metre torps you will see on a field... Not as high as goddards but an absolute monster.... he has a boot on him...

Well done to everyone again you could see we played as a team and more well oiled and showed better teamwork throughout the game, funny thing is on the collingwood forum they're saying how its sad we had casey and TAC players and stuff

what a joke, we have ilz who is trying out for them for the 1st year who has been playing with us for four years... And i'm sure if u watched yesterday you can see why...

Everyone else either doesn't play or plays in lowly divisions in VAFA in gipsland leagues, it was a great run guys and hopefully we use this run out as a practice for the upcoming matches... thnks to dools for oerganising it...
