Why we won

Post: # 578803Post perfectionist »

We were playing Melbourne!

I counted a few occasions when we were able to make two errors but they would up that to three, resulting in a goal to us.

It is worth remembering that they beat us in an Elimination Final less than 21 months ago.

However long it is going to take us to win a flag, it will be double that for the Dees.

If we play them every week until the end of the season, we will make the finals.

We are not Collingwood so we can't play the shizen teams every week. ;)

What concerns me is we allowed a 100+ pts win to become a 79pts win we didn't have the killer instinct in the last quarter that we needed to boost our %. I am happy with the win but i am mindful that we played a team that really isn't very good and actually got worse as the match went on. Next 2 weeks will tell us the real story i am hoping it is a good story and not a horror one.

Yes it was only Melbourne.

But
-When a player is out of form a week in the VFL is a good way to regain form and confidence.

-When a Team is out of form a week playing Melbourne is a good way to regain form and confidence.

With any luck Melb have played us back into form.

Plenty of good signs
- did well in the ruck
- dominant midfield
- quick and direct delivery into the forward line

It was just like being transported back to 2004 :D :D :D

After last week's effort agst. the Hawks, Melb. thought they were a real chance today - give credit where credits due!

Don't agree Jill.
I reckon Melb were really primed last week
- Neiter retiring
- Kennett putting the boots in

This week they were bound to have a let down.

Conversely the "soft" tag was always going to fire us up.

Would have bet the house on us today.
