We will beat Swans

Post: # 584676Post saintgus »

I always back us against the Swans and always go in confident no matter what. I think that this could be the week we finally put it together and get a quality win. I think everything is shaping up nicely, and a few playrs could be due for big ones. Despite our recent loss, i reckon we could be on the verge of turning the corner. Thoughts?

i would be very suprised if we win this week
lets look at what we are up against

we playing a team who pride themself from playing on heart - and we have the bigest heartless bunch of players going around

we are playing a team who love and have mastered the slow boring possesion game - our game plan

plus i suspect Syd might try and see how far they can push the Goodes "protected speicies" tag and have him line up on the wing with a machete see if he can get a reprimand for decapitation and amputation
A Goodes - attack with a machete on St kilda midfeild - medium impact , in play low neglegence subtract the" i play for sydney" allowance , take into account the whack a saint rule , plus the "am a two time brownlow medalist" - result 5 weeks to Baker cause even though he wasnt playing theres no video proof of him not doing the crime !!!

I'm pretty notorious for wearing the rose coloured glasses but even I don't think we'll win this one, sorry. Not a chance in my mind. But that won't stop me watching the game and cheering them on. :)

Next week, Ozlotto is worth $15 million. The chances of winning with just one entry are 45,379,620 to one. The chances of us beating Sydney on the weekend are slightly better, but only just. I suggest a ticket in Ozlotto rather than a bet on St Kilda, the payoff is better, but only just.

i'd rather we bottom out...

hope that this would get the message to RL to
a) stop playing mediocre players that can't improve
b) start playing kids
c) rethink the game plan and give him an excuse to try new things w/o losing face

At least their wont be any suicidal threads and bitching about everything cos we already know we're gonna lose, we already know who will play s***, who will play good, what the small amounts of positives are and how bad our game plan is.

Therefore there is no reason to post at all. :D

I now have very low expectations.

But what will grate even more is
- seeing that serial f'wit Hall coming back
- and the AFL's bastard lovechild's other "Protected Species" also roaming free to snipe again and again.

no hope of winning this game, especially with Goodes playing and in great form.

Sydney at full strength with Barry Hall back, and having the luxury of having Fosdike, Nick Davis, Crouch, Ben Matthews all playing in ressies and putting pressure on those in the 22 for spots...

We will be lucky to kick 8 goals total.

Flights all booked. I'm there...not with any optimism, but more with hope.

I hope we try, just like we did in 2006, when we fought so hard to win, and I was so, so very proud of the boys.

Seeing Grant Thomas thumping his chest as he walked off, and Luke Ball grabbing him and hugging him....f*** me...that's what this club is all about to me.

Spirit, heart and passion.

We can only live in hope "evertonfc" that yesteryear passion so held by our team can be reignited once more ....sadly I don't think the bloke in charge has the werewithall to spark such a flame

Cheer for the club in Sydney this weekend...... I admire your spirit in following them up there...all is not lost eh?? :P :P :P

I don't know about that "loris", I've certainly given up hope of us acheiving anything in 2008.

But that shouldn't preclude us from giving our all. Not by a long shot.

Agree.

But that AFL-arse licker KB thinks it's just negligent contact.

I think KB has contact problems with his brain sometimes!

havent seen that for awhile huh......
you reckon if we pull the old rabbit out the hat this week, that we'll see bally or lenny grab RL and give him a big hug??

somehow i doubt it.
give GT crap all u want peoples, but one things for sure the players wanted to succeed not only for themselves, but for the coach as well back then.

bit on envey towards everton, wish i could get over there... but sadly the chances of that are the same as bally or lenny hugging RL after a win.

I'm on your wagon also. Last week was our "big chance" and we wasted an opportunity to make a real statement that we were "turning the corner". I didn't tip us last week...and sure as hell ain't tipping us this week either.

I don't know what we're going to need to do to get our competitive edge back...but if we're going to do it, let's hope it happens now and not deliver "yet again" one of our seemingly consistant "last minute" dashes of brilliance that comes in all too late and when the game or season is lost! NOW is the time to do it!! RIGHT NOW! :!: :!:

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

I always reckoned we had the edge on them in Sin City and can recall some great wins when we were not even rated, but in the present climate I have grave doubts. The Swines are flying high. But that does not diminish my fervour for the boys and their endeavours for a win.
Go Saints!!
