rhys palmer???

Post: # 592062Post fonz_#15 »

what is all the fuss about?
he had the ball a fair bit last night, but i don't think he hurt us with 1 disposal.
i dont see too much of the pjurple panzies, but the games i have seen, his ball use doesn't look that great.
anybody can get the ball, it is more what you do with it that must be considered.

remember mark mcgough?

You must have been at a different game.

Mark McGough wasn't averaging 27 disposals a game.

Mark McGough wasn't 18 years of age

you didn't see his complete lack of awareness.

he is a promising up and comer, but i have seen a few games and he hasn't impressed me as muich as some of the young players coming through at other clubs.

He certainly has to improve his disposal but is definitely a player of the future.

for a kid to come straight from the u/18s into an AFL side and not only hold his position but be one of their better players isn't a bad effort.

you can't tell me that playing AFL is easy compared to the 18s, especially phyiscally. most other kids probably would have needed a rest before rd13 after playing most of their time on ball - the only reason Palmer hasn't is because he is still in freos best.

now i don't like freo as much as the next bloke. but give the kid a break. last night was pretty much the first time he has shown signs of fatigue all year. which is probably fair enough

The ABC-774 commentators all said palmer needs to improve his disposal before he can make the next step....

Saints looking like a bottom 4 team in 2024.

ive watched him from his WAFL games he is a quallity player , the questions marks around his disposal says more about the team he plays for the fact he does all the hard work then looks up and has nothing to kick toois freos major problem , mark my words if Freo mannage to get Daniel Rich in next years draft then we will be looking at a dominant midfeild combo much like the old WC set up with a dominant ruck and classy mids with the exception Freo will have a dominant forward somthing WC has never had

I was giving him hell cause I felt almost every possesion he had he turned it over or made the wrong decision.

Needs alot of work if he wants to be elite.

IMO will get better with more games under his belt, same as some of ours will ,made a good start to career, will really hurt sides when that disposal improves

He's not Mark McGough, Clint Jones or even Matt Priddis. He can kick long, hit targets and kick goals. He's just inconsistent with his ball use. Freo would have known that when they drafted him. He was easily the most ready made player in the top-10 of this year's draft, but I'd still take Cotchin over him any day.

Yeah nah pleasing positive

It's obvious then that you have hardly seen him play. Lock him in to win the NAB rising star, unless he gets injured he is an almost certainty. Get on before he is unbackable at tab sportsbet
